Given how generally flamboyant Vinomas's characters are, I thought for this pageant I'd pull Xara out of her comfort zone a bit.
The original idea was based on Eastern Indian style. I tried a million colors and finally decided on a monochromatic blue for everything. But that seemed a little boring in the end. So I added a bit of contrasting gold in the bodice. That led to the gold filigree on her arms and legs. It would be hard for Xara to resist that. I think the hem of the dress needs work but it'll do for now. ^_^

WOW KIM AND DRAGONAUR…I am so thankful for you two and am overjoyed with your entries. This pageant is seriously going to be THE BEST THING EVER!!! Just think all summer long we are going to be able to hang out and be creative together! And then there is that whole critiquing and competition thing! But our girls (remember boys and animals and creatures can come too!) will stand hand in hand waiting for the final results and wishing each other well.

I could just take you all and hug you so tight right now. I has been a serious life-long dream to host and create a pageant…and as someone who did it with paper dolls, catalog models, and toys, it seems the next step be Online Artists. You made my dreams come true and even though there are still Interview, Swimsuit, Talent, and Evening Wear to draw for I'm already thinking about how fun it's going to be for us all to come back next year and do it all over again! Luccia - You are absolutely amazing. I think your character is going to feel really special to a lot of people. I would love to collaborate with you sometime in future fashion themes. Maybe Ozone, Hippie, or Kawaii will come up with a collaboration theme next season!
Fallopiancrusader - My Heart! The gowns you designed a year ago for the Duck Drunk Awards for my characters to wear were very special to me and I'm so proud that I even got to try to imitate them. Having you here now and after listening to your podcast of where your heroine would go…it seems absolutely fitting that she would go right straight to a pageant. Wear her beauty and talents and intelligence could be put on the line. I think she will be a VERY EARLY FAVORITE and I this pic may just go to top 3 overall. You are a gift.

@darkace: the way to get your pic to stay is, when you copy and paste your image url, remove all the jibberish after the Question Mark (?). That's all some special code that DD always puts in image URLS and you'll notice an ‘expires’ tagword in there - that's what's causing it go away after a bit of time. So, paste url again and before making it ‘final’ remove all that excess stuff!
