I'm paying a programmer to fix the site and we're now running fasrer than we have in YEARS! But ironically, no one is posting in the forums… >_<

Seeing as no one is here now for some weird reason I've scheduled some code upgrades.

No one is posting because the ste is going so fast we have to wait for everyone else to catch up.

Someone oiled the duck… I read 2 comic pages in under 10 minutes - the future is here!

Ah, heads up I guess? A bunch of comments from last night/early morning got obliterated, the single comment I got on my page is gone and it fills me with sadness! (Ọ︵Ọ)

And so did my post in the DD fan art thread! I understand it's all in the service of a better site for all, but it's still a bummer. Might want to let people know that their comments might voip out of existence while things are getting worked on.

Sorry about that Amelius! I'm extremely sorry and very sad that happened!
I did make a Newspost, the comment here, and posts on the Facebook DD groups before it happened and right before the backup copy was made if the site (which is why these comments are still here),. But I realise that not everyone would have read them. It's very hard to inform everyone at short notice.

I would have loved to have longer notice, but I can't afford to retain the programmer for that long a time…

I read your comment on the fanart thread and saw your fan art for Ciu the Alp from the Dead leon comic and I thought it was pretty cool!

Don't be sad it's not really your fault, haha! I only saw the newspost like a minute or two after my page was posted, the announcement wasn't on the main page yet when I started processing the update. For me it was just bad timing, I actually left a comment on the announcement post the moment I saw it, lamenting said bad timing on my behalf! I picked a great time to attempt to be social, hahaha! (ʘ▽ʘ)
*edit* I should clarify better, I just wanted to let others know it may be an issue just in case! and also thanks I'll probably repost that picture again soon.

Glad to have you popping up though and I hope it happens more oten! ^_^

I'm putting the programming changes and updates on hold for a while now in oorder to save money, So there won't be any more disruptions till after Christmas, when I will definitely make sure to give at least 2 or 3 days notice.
I'd love to keep going with them but even with an inexpensive guy we just haven't got that much and part of it comes out of my own funds…

With the site being a lost faster and WAAAYYYY less painful to use I look forward to more posting by people! :D

Still maybe a few bugs to work out.

But the place does seem to be running a lot faster. I read a whole 25-plus page werewolf comic this morning while eating breakfast. Normally that would be a trial of endurance on this site.

The bugs are legion.
We only had performance stuff fixes so far- and the registration and password recovery system.

Next up maybe the forms can be fixed… and add counters to the comics- if it doesnt kill performance.

FUCK YES! I managed to fix a bug myself just now!
You could NOT queue up pages beyond 2015, so I found the file that needed fixing and managed to make the right change. The change actually took and it freaking WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, another little bug I had a look at:
When rearranging pages in the page edit system yo could normally only see 20 at a time. I changed that to 100.
We had an issue where you couldn't push comics over onto the next page once you'd gone done the list of the 20. This is a sort of fix for that.
It's STILL an issue if you want to reorder past 100 pages though… I can change the display to over 1000 or a million or anything to tackle that but it makes the list unfeasably long. What do you think?

Thanks for your hard work on it!! I don't know if displaying all the pages is feasable for what I wanted to do. I wanted to introduce a Header for the first Chapter of the Godstrain, and perhaps also do a prelude or sorts - but having to push a page(s) from the end all the way to the beginning just ain't gonna happen ;)

No worries Kim.
Yes, over 324 pages would be a pain with the way things are… Even in the admin section it can't be done easier because we have to manually then renumber all the pages.

Though if you do want to attempt it I can change the display to 1000. Let me know :)
