I was searching for some seasonal fruits and vegetables during my last trip to the market and ended up buying a personal sized watermelon. That is when I knew that Summer is finally here.
What are your favourite traditional summertime activities? Did you grow up in a family that made camping trips in nature? Or picnic in a park watching music concerts or Shakespearean plays? Is your summer really just about visiting the beach and soaking in the sun? Do the sunny days mean that it is time to fire up the grill and BBQ outdoors? With several students on break from school for the next three months, Summer is the perfect time to get a summer job or to travel. Are there any ducks planning a really fun trip in the next few weeks? Is anyone going to any comic conventions?
In my city, local groups of indigenous American tribes from various regions get together for an annual Pow Wow around this time of the year. I enjoy visiting them as an outside observer.

Can I just say...Kawaiidaigakusei, I would hire you as my PR person any single second of my life. Thank you for the shout out. Dragonaur and KimLuster have registered two amazing models, so just these 5 ladies are already showing that they are in it to WIN IT! But remember, this doesn't have to be a traditional beauty pageant with girls. Guys can be a part of it too...same for Animals and Creatures. Hell, you could be in it if you wanted to. :) I'm still hoping for Modest Medusa and Pinky TA. I've got Princess January and 3 more #travmoworldmodelz waiting in the ring. What about Fallopiancrusader's main girl...apologies for not wanting to misspell it so I won't type it (same for Xara and KimLusters's girl with an S).

KimLuster, that's making me nervous just reading about it! D= Summer for me means long hikes and birdwatching! I'll be going to Yellowstone National Park for the first time soon. Also hope to see some baseball games.

@tupapayon--You're right, there's always a risk when playing sports. I lost count how many times I've messed up my ankles playing b-ball, I cracked my ribs when I was a kid playing hockey and so on...I guess I'm an adrenaline junkie. ^_^

@FC: ha, yes that's exactly what I did - hung onto those wing structures with my hands, while my body floated behind me - it was surreal!! I bet I hung there 20 seconds (maybe it seemed longer than it really was) then they signaled for me to let go...! It was really awesome!! Now, just talking about it - I kinda wanna do it again... Hmmm... Nahhhh!

@KimLuster: you did a static-line jump! That's impressive. That's how I did my first jump, too. It's hard to find drop zones that still use use that teaching method

Skydiving sounds fun. I had a chance to go once, but I wasn't able to! I like playing b-ball (basketball) at the gym or park, but then again I try to play year-round. Jet skiing at the lake is fun!

I skydived (skydove?) once. Had to dangle from the plane's wing and chute was pulled out for me automatically when I let go! It was exhilarating, but... ah... once was enough! ;)

Skydiving used to be my favorite summertime activity. With summer's long daylight hours, you could easily get in ten jumps a day. Then I decided to become a freelancer, so now I'm too poor to engage in such expensive hobbies anymore.

And I'm terribly allergic to watermelon lol!! I suppose my Summer activities revolves around the creeks and rivers, canoeing and kayaking (of course we do those an awful lot in the fall, spring, and even a little in the winter...) - I guess the biggest difference is outdoor stuff like boat riding and festivals (will be going to a 'Jazz Fest' this Friday) :D
