Vote on Bug Fixes and New Features!

First of all, some big news!

As you may have already heard, our indiegogo campaign is now fully funded! A huge, enormous thanks to all of you who donated. A reminder, also, that every penny we get from this is going to help fix the site and make it better - so even though the campaign is fully funded, which is awesome, anything extra you want to give is still very much appreciated.

A couple weeks ago, I put out a call for bugs fixes and new features that DDers would like to see. Boy, did you guys come through. The entire list, as well as some surrounding discussion, is in this thread.

The second phase is for you all to vote on which of those many, many suggestions you would most like to see. Aside from a small number of ideas that were not feasible at this point (see explanations in the thread linked above), all of the suggestions we received are in this survey. We will be using user votes to determine what we spend the remainder of our indiegogo money on, so this is really important!

The survey can be found here: http://goo.gl/forms/pW7Vmfxnjc

MILESTONE

KimLuster's The Godstrain has reached 300 pages! I can remember when it was first featured all the way back in 2012!

@ Amelius. That's what I said once. After a year in the Top 10 The ones there could be moved to a new place called 'The Hall of Fame'. That way they still get their deserved glory while letting other contenders have a chance! And I don't say that out of sour grapes because quite frankly, I don't think my strip is popular enough to get up there anyways!

(ಥДಥ) Nooooooooooo!

HippieVan at 12:40PM, March 4, 2016

Oh, did I not mention that when it goes horribly wrong we will blame it ALL ON YOU? ;P

Amelius at 12:19PM, March 4, 2016

that's fine, I was just having a little panic there haha!

HippieVan at 11:56AM, March 4, 2016

@Amelius: I'm sure that if that one were chosen there would be a lot more discussion about how to approach it before it was actually implemented! I was just trying to boil every idea down into a bite-sized piece so that this wasn't the longest survey ever.

So hard to choose, but fantastic list! I'm really excited to see the changes! Thanks to everyone who organizes this stuff man, kudos!

Also, I'd really love to hear fellow "tenners" chime in on these issues... I can't speak for everyone there!

Amelius at 9:35AM, March 4, 2016

heh, even though I suggested it, I kind of feel the "remove top ten from main page" needs some elaboration that it could be replaced by something (like "popular today" or whatever) that's less static in nature. Just dropping it without something to replace it feels like punishing people for doing well, and that's kind of an issue DD has struggled with for years. We want to encourage people to move up, but in a way that doesn't discourage people just starting out, y'know?

It's definitely hard to choose, but the reality is that we don't have that much money to work with so I want people to really pin down their priorities for the site. As for combining small fixes, honestly I'm not comfortable making judgements about what will and won't be a quick fix. You're probably right about the misc text thing, though.

So hard to just choose a few of those. Perhaps it would have been good to bunch everything about the favourites tab into one job instead of treating them as separate? Also, stuff like changing the logo image and removing the "MISC" text are so small jobs that they could be fixed in one minute. (much like the misspelled quote text) So perhaps they could be bundled together with a general small fixes job?
