Snacks! What fuels you?

Kawaii may have covered this some time ago… I'm not sure. But I want to talk about it now!
In a crunch or just to get going, you often need a bit of an energy boost or even just something to get you into your comfort zone in order to get the creative juices flowing…

This stuff is VERY individual, it's not a one size fits all thing by any means. Things like wine can be good for busting through blocks and coffee or energy drinks can get you going and KEEP you going, do you favour those?
Personally I stay away from stimulants like that because they develop their own sort of dependence.
When I'm in a real crunch the comfort food I go for is usually plain salty chips. My fave brand is Kettle because they're not too oily, while being very crunchy and crisp! MMmm, deliciously unhealthy!

My regular comfort zone nibble fuel is Vita Wheat biscuits with Vegemite and margarine on them, accompanied by a cup of tea. This is all very Australian stuff I might add. Sometimes I'll have a nice sweet biccy as well, usually butternut snap, Anzac, shortbread, or gingerbread. This is wonderful comfort food!
I used to gobble lollies (Candy to you North Americans), things like caramels, marshmallows, jelly snakes, chocolate etc, but it's not too healthy.
Conversely, for a while I had nothing but carrots, but that turned EVERYTHING orange. XD

All of this helps me get in the creative mood and ready for some heavy comicing!

Tell me what your drawing fuel is!??

Hahaha, then you'd better stop eating those things! :D Truthfully though, instant Decaf coffee is not good. -_-

@ozoneocean: If "decaf instant coffee" is "for connoisseurs of the finer things in life" I will stop making poached eggs on asparagus with a drizzle of truffle oil for lunch, and smoked salmon with cream cheese capers and bagels for breakfast. (I eat well. That may explain my current size.)

Coffee. Black. Straight. Preferably condensed to the point it could be called extract. Also I like really bitter tea.

Ah, good hot sweet drinks... Occasionally I'll indulge in a cup of hot chocolate, salted caramel flavour. I used to LOVE coffee, but had to give it up. I was drinking all sorts of pods for a while, cappuccino was my fave, before that it was the little packets... Irish coffee flavour was delish. But for a long time now I've been restricting myself only to buying it in cafes on rare times, very rare! Recently though I've been experimenting with decaf instant coffee at home... It's not great, but at least it give you that fix you miss. Even so decaffeinated still give you a cafine hit so you can't drink more than one if you're trying to avoid that.

My day is not complete without cappuccino

I always associate wings now with getting drunk... too much Regular Show.

Soda. Veggies and dip. Chinese food. I love hot wings but I gotta avoid messy stuff when I'm creating. Oh, and cereal. I love cereal any, time of day except for breakfast.

That is the most aussie collection of snacks I've ever seen! I'm all for cracker barrel cheese on crackers and a good cup of tea. And chilli chips. So many chilli chips...

I don't know, but whatever it was I seem to be out of it. :-(

bravo1102 at 3:10AM, Nov. 3, 2017

Used to be chips or pretzels now it's Graham crackers and protein bars.

Ozoneocean at 3:06AM, Nov. 3, 2017

Vegemite is only for connoisseurs of the finer things in life. ;)

Gunwallace at 1:04AM, Nov. 3, 2017

Vegemite. It's Marmite, but somehow worse. As for my own fuel ... depends on the season. Winter is soups. Miso if I haven't cooked anything. Leek and Potato or Chicken if I have. Summer is Gin and Tonic in the afternoon, with a splash of homemade lemon shrub (a strange old-fashioned vinegar concoction). Or wine. Wine works all year round.
