Episode 91: The Quack Always Casts Twice, 2012 DD Radio Play

Aug 20, 2012

Banes introduces the 2012 DD radio play! Maxwell McDuff must face his most diabolical trial yet in... THE DUCK ALWAYS QUACKS TWICE! He's joined by many other notable and fiendish characters in this new and epic adventure involving anvils, Maltese quails, crocodiles, and terrifying torture! This fine story was written by Gunwallace, organised heroically by Ayesinback and edited together by Banes. This story of the amazing Maxwell McDuff and many other characters was the product of many hours work and organisation by many different participants. Before the play there are some great interviews with members of the cast, but if you’d like to jump to the play, that starts at 38.41 minutes.

yay, finally had the time to listen to it(moving, working etc). And looking at the comic while listening to the play is HILL-arious!

Just listened to it, I love it! All of the interviews were fun to listen to... Drunk Duck's really a melting pot of people with all kinds of qualifications, and it's great. Bravo's portion made me laugh pretty good, too! Genehole and PieGuy were awesome, by the way. They have some serious talent, and I'd be disappointed if they weren't using it to make a living. Other than that, everyone was great, the play itself was fun to do, and even more fun to listen to. Great job, everyone!

Wow. Great voice acting and production, everyone. (I think I had the easy bit.) There's a lot of hours, blood, sweat, tears and other bodily fluids in this one.

@usedbooks - SO glad you had fun (I know you were nervous) but what a fantastic good sport PLUS totally killing as Vera. If she's your polar and this was your first go at acting You've got some real talent :) @Niccea - no cameras, but after I sell the audio recordings (hotter than a 3-day TexMex cook-off -- potential buyers please PQ me) taken from the hidden mics in your newlywed rooms, I should be able to afford a visit to Gunwallace in his home town. And speaking of Gunwallace, he also wrote the mini script for the soap promo. In something like 9 min. The Rocket Writer - a total blast!

I haven't heard it yet. There's no net at my new apartment, and I'm too paranoid to listen to it/get caught listening to it at the law school library. These people are RUTHLESS, I tell you! But yeah, I can't wait to hear it. I'm downloading the MP3 now so I can listen when I get home. I bet I sound so retarded in the interview, though :P I shouldn't record my thoughts when I'm exhausted from moving out.. Hopefully everyone else said really cool things in their interviews to offset that! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to reading some 300 pages of material for tomorrow...

Nice work on the play, you guys. It's amazing how well a play can be put together when the participants are so far from each other. I got a really big kick out of Bravo's interview.

Niccea at 9:46AM, Aug. 21, 2012

Mark my words. One of these days I will be the star of the show. Now can someone get the moderator documentary cameras out of my apartment?

Was hilarious! :D

Banes at 8:20AM, Aug. 21, 2012

...and hey...an ayesinback interview is certainly something we can arrange, still! :-D

Banes at 7:42AM, Aug. 21, 2012

Hooray!

usedbooks at 7:02AM, Aug. 21, 2012

It was fun. :) You guys have a lot of talent. o_0

I rather regret turning down the op to be interviewed - so much I'd like to say - but glad there was time to hear from some of the cast members!! It's working with so many here at DD that's made they play a joy for me. This year RL has been a little too challenging for me, and if Banes hadn't agreed to help by sequencing the separate cast recordings together - well, this QC wouldn't have happened in August! A special callout to Oz who cowrote the mod piece and rounded up several of the "ancients". Gene hole's genius voice acting made that particularly fun. As with all comm projs, it's the contributions from all that make for success - and FUN. XD
