Lopriest: Tarantulas are huge surely, so would one even fit in her panties? Nice idea though. Also we don't get them here unless its by some freak import accident.

DV: You're spot on about Claire :) As for Sarah, oh noooooooooo surely you can't mean that!!! It is a harmless spider I swear and Claire could refuse, just as Nikki did. I felt Sarah's intuition that Claire was deliberately trying to wind her up by first snogging her partner, and then threatening to expose Nikki might seem reasonable justification but it's the only defence I have to offer. Now I guess I'll have to write a redemption scene!

Didi: Haha, I was actually thinking her expression was too subtle so it's nice you all can see her nervousness. I'm assuming Claire expected something smaller but she's drunk so maybe her normal fear is a little dampened or she is a pretty tough gal anyway.

Okay, right, from my own perspective I've been picking up spiders for about 10 yrs just as a way of dealing with my stupid and unreasonable phobia. sometimes they still make me jump though when they appear unexpectedly or run fast up my arm, and then I'm reduced back to my normal pathetic cringeing again, but I've never been bitten or know anyone who has. I appreciate that there maybe a couple of baddies among them but the variety I've seen really are very common and harmless otherwise I'd never have had this scene. Fiddlebacks are real nasty but this is the UK and unless one came over with a box of fruit I think Claires fairly safe. :)

A tarantula would probably have been better, at least they're soft and furry and if a pet used to human touch... You never know with these little ones, the wrong kind and a bite will send you to the hospital :(

All right, well your author message just nipped my foreshadowing question. Don't have to worry about Claire getting bit and having to go to the hospital for immense poison. Claire does actually look freaked though. I wonder if she has acrachnophobia or something. Why, I almost feels sorry for her with that face.

I doubt it's of that variety, Doc. It could always humorously turn out to be a False Widow and need some medical attention, but...that would be a long shot, perhaps. From all I can see, there are only a couple of non-exotic spiders in the UK that might have any bite to their venom. One, the Garden Spider, may sting for a day or two but generally offers nothing more than annoyance. The other, the aforementioned False Widow, can sometimes require medical attention if a person reacts badly. Certainly not deadly. I don't think this spider is either of those, however. Though the species generally isn't all black, it would look probably to be more of a Common House Spider, what with the long legs and small-ish body. http://www.uksafari.com/housespiders.htm Not dangerous at all, but nothing I'd want crawling around under my covers, either. lol ~Liz

Oh, party games. It's all about the kissing, and the flashing, and the spiders in the panties...wait, what? XD Love Sarah's resourcefulness, but how did May not already kill that thing? I just feel sorry for when Claire inevitably gets revenge. Sarah is probably going to regret the whole thing. :/ Still, I feel for the spider anyways, Claire is one character whose panties I wouldn't dive in if I was paid. The exact opposite of Janey, who I would pay anything, my soul included, for. lol I do have to compliment the beautiful rendering of doubt on Claire's face in that last panel, though. Absolutely beautiful. Now if only I could see her face drawn in F(ear) Major...she's been such an unrepentant thorn in the loving couple's side since day one... ~Liz

Dear Sky, I can see why Claire likes kissing Janey better than Sarah, but its a bitchy thing to say .While it might be fun to be in Claires panties, I feel for the spider. I imagine the spider will seek safety by creeping up into a crevice, lets say. Can also see Claire trying to stop him. Does it count if Claire squishes the spider before the five minutes are up? Sarah should hold Claires hands behind her back so the spider can crawl where it wants. tommym

Ooh! a redback...is it a redback ? B-) (that's black widow to our american friends). Probably don't get them there...but then again, the biggest I've ever seen was a huge tarantula in our flat in Barry (where banana boats land, so probably came off that)
