I heard that there was a post by the Duck this week which says something about handling control over to the community that have supported it for so long. I can't really quite picture how that will work but it does sound like very promising news. I know the staff who run this thing are very dedicated and passionate about making it run well and I've seen evidence in the past of that frustration of wanting problems fixed and being ignored. This was a really great site when I first came here and it was only since the revamp that was supposed to cure all the old bugs that everything seemed to fall apart. Despite all that though, this has always been our main home and even though I started loading the comic elsewhere at it's lowest point I did always hope the Duck would get back on it's feet again, and it has certainly felt much more promising in the last year for sure. Loading is sometimes still a bit slow and the stats so badly needs sorting out still but I was really pleased to hear this news and it will be great to see the Duck taking prominence again among the comic websites.

Yup, back when she was an innocent little school girl :P

I think it was drunk ducks upgrade length that drove a lot of people away.

DV: Haha Good old Dr Who! Wow that was a long time ago though! I think you must mean the Christmas shopping page in part two where Sarah's playing with a ray gun. I put a Dalek and the robot from Lost in Space on the counter. XD

Agree with Phantom: had been reading Rival Angels previously, but it was seeing the Womble (or was it a Dalek?) in that shop scene way back when that got me to actually join just to comment :D And haven't regretted it for a moment :D

Phantom: Oh that's really cool!! Once again I'm so used to reading your posts and responding to them that it feels like you have been a part of my life for quite a long time too, There used to be a really lively atmosphere on the Duck with everyone chatting to each other but On all the sites the comic is on now it's really quietened down enormously over the last 2-3 years. I wonder if that's because so many are busy working on their own personal sites now as opposed to following others.

Bear, Aww I know. The webcomic world seems different to me now to what it was like when we first started. I was really disappointed to see the stats go down and even more so that they never seemed interested in fixing it ever. The comments left are the only possible way to know if anyone is reading on this site which is horrible for anyone who has just started a comic for the first time as they just won't know if anyone is looking or not.

Kim: You've been so supportive on my comic that it feels like you have been around forever! XD Funnily enough when I joined and met Emi, she told me that the Duck had crashed the year before badly and I believe some comics were never recovered because back then you had to load the pages to a separate back-up archive manually and many hadn't bothe red. I have to admit I love Kirsty's hair, and you are sooo right about the confrontation. lol It'll be a few pages before we get there though as this arc has quite a few pages in.

This was actually the comic that inspired me to join and start chatting with everyone.

I kicked off on 10/10/10, by sheer coincidence, but later I thought it was "auspicious" and if I ever labelled my comics it would be 10XTEN or something. But for me it's been like my health - detiorating in bits'n'pieces B-) ...lost stats, lost access, loads of downtime, then lost readership. Haven't update any on her for weeks. So..the new ownership can't be any worse, eh? B-) (Like the page btw)

I actually came on board with the Duck at a sort of low point, so I'm good as long as it alive haha - that it may get better is just great news! Kay, beautiful page - love the house detail and the poses and postures by everyone. Lots of interesting interactions. I really like Kirsty (she's gorgeous! and the world needs more gingers haha). I do see her and Sarah involved in some sort of confrontation soonish (that last panel haha).
