Actually, the touristsite at the Castle has a list of movies filmed there... some 15-20 IIRC, Highlander being the most high-profile of them :) ... and yes, I visited 3 weeks ago on vacation, before I read this strip unfortunately :p

Maybe Rob Roy wasn't filmed at the castle, but believe it was on the loch somewhere (or maybe it the cave he hid out in was on the loch, can vaguely remember either the boat driver or tour director telling us about it).............. No worries about not covering Glencoe, there isn't anything there and doesn't really hold much of a significance to anyone not connected in some way, same with Culloden (but at least Culloden has a tourist building :P)

Wasn't just to the MacDonalds, it was to the entire Highland Hospitality thing (Campbells were Lowland servants to the English)

You're right DV, the Campbells did a horrible thing to the MacDonalds in Glencoe. They made a terrible mistake that day! One of my Scots ancestry lines is actually Campbell and I will be traveling to Scotland next year. I guess I shouldn't mention it. By the way I had a close friend growing up that was a MacDonald. He's alive and well btw.

Went to that castle in '06 with oldest sister (was supposed to have been older brother, but he died a year after dad, so we took his ashes to scatter near where our grandmother lived not far from Bungay, which has it's own ruined castle {boy the people back then must have been only around 4 feet or something as the dungeon was barely tall enough to crawl around in})....... Oh, any chance they will go to Glencoe or Culloden? Not many people know about Glencoe, but what happened there started the end of the famous Highland Hospitality (Campbell Clan can all die forever!!!)

Well, you so caught the spirit of this place - it's just beautiful! Okay, movie guesses: Hmmm... Is the bridge where Rob Roy nearly choked his nemesis (until they cut the rope, allowing him to escape)? Nah, that was a river with fast flowing water...hmmm I have no clue haha
