SS5 88 The Spanish Date

If you thought last week's page was confusing then…ouch! lol This is the last of the dating pages and it was inspired by an experience a friend of mine had which I found so funny I wanted to include it. I did hesitate about whether to go ahead with it or not as it may just be too hard to read but it's done so I thought we might as well show it. I've put the Spanish translation below so that at least you wont be half as confused as Sarah is! Many thanks to BO from SJ for doing the translate for me too :)
PS: I've also replied to all the rest of the comments from last week too now.
SPANISH TRANSLATION:
Panel 2: told you I wasn't going to wait forever and you didn't believe me did you?
What's that? You think I'm making all this up just to try and make you jealous?

Panel 4: Yes, and she's absolutely crazy about me! She texts me all the time and tonight

Fallopian: The saying 'Truth is stranger than fiction'is often so very true. When looking for extra ideas I found a lesbian site which had asked for women's worst dating experiences and one said her date wanted to drink her blood, and another changed her FB profile to 'this is the girl I'm going to marry' and another overseas 'date' turned up at at her workplace uninvited just a week after meeting. lol

Kim: That's cool. In my naivety when I first came to the Duck I thought everyone was either US or UK and it was a real thrill to find we had one French reader and then others started popping up from various other countries. I must admit I had a Flamenco dancer in mind when drawing her. :)

Tupayon: That's the trouble with not being able to read and understand one's own script! lol I'm not sure why I put a full stop in there anyway as it was clearly not in Bo's translate. It was easily removed tho and thanks for pointing that out. :) A 'joder' I'm lost on that lol but it'll certainly come up at the next board meeting!' :)

Bear: I never realised the Spanish did that! Bo is a native and speaks the language fluently so I can only imagine she either thought it might be even more confusing to use them that way or else she did and I just didn't notice!.

Dear Sky. yeah While it may d\seem some one may not be in the "know" Sarah lived through a heart break. we really were not at Coulors that kh=night so .. w really don't know what is going on with phone and the person oss using it. We see Sarah five times, she I/seems interested/ will ing to wait for Chica's talk (iam sure Sarah is learning as much as she can )in fifth panel looks "Hotter than a bleeding Volcano". twice she seems surprised flash photo( witch in my book is a no no, in view of "speed of light transmissions ' these days. it would be kinda funny if it flaged inter pol but I digress.In the end both Sarah and Chica are looking for love that supreme oneness. Great page, so glad able to have seen it for a minute :P.............................. Sarah doesn't look too upset in panels four and five, surprised and deer-in-headlights in panel three and confused and 'what just happened?' in the last panel :D And she definitely has to go to the wedding, if it's within range, it wouldn't have happened if not for her after all ;)

You definitely can't make this kind of stuff up! These kind of real- life interludes introduce a lot of texture to the story. I wonder what her girlfriend thought, when she got that picture of Sarah with such a shocked expression on her face. I went on a date kind of like this once, except she had two phones, with two simultaneous streams of different people interrupting about every five minutes.

I must say you captured the Chica's temperament quite well. Having lived in Spain and seen the dancing, drinking, cursing, bull-fighting (saw an old grandmother screaming 'Matarlo! Matarlo!' trans-'Kill It! Kill It!"), Human fighting (I once got caught in a riot in downtown Madrid - I ducked my head and tried to look as Un-American as possible!), I must say Spaniards tend to live life 'passionately'! My ability to speak Spanish has deteriorated, but I still read it well so I understood all this! Great Page, but poor Sarah - used as a jealousy inducer. Too bad - the sex probably would've been great!!

It's just great!… I've seen things like this happening… good thing you didn't use google translate… a "joder" here and there would've been a nice addition but the dialogue is perfect… except for the misplaced period in panel four… but readable and enjoyable…

Well I'm glad you did! B-) Wondered whether you were "fluent" or not,'til I read your author note. I'm wondering who I'll get for French and Spanish, when I need them later on B.E. B-)
