I wouldn't categorise them, Dark' B-) I wouldn't have minded getting BEAR ( or 8EAR ), to be honest, but there IS the cost and the effort to actually go about it. They CAN be humorous - locally I like GGTEEF (a horse dentist) WASHIS (a female divorce lawyer)...but I see plenty of others that make me smile (or wince).

Aww man I hate running out of buffer to read :D I love this comic so much. Things with Lucy are getting really interesting, I love how these past pages were more about Sarah and Nikki reacting to Lucy than anything. It's fascinating how feelings get more and more complex as it goes.

I wasn't suggesting Sarah was the type to get ( or afford ) "custom" plates/ More that when you are drawing a vehicle you have to think one up, as a blank one just doesn't look right. "Phil" doesn't have 105ERS by choice - I just thought it fitted ! B-) I think I've mentioned before I knew someone in Porthcawl who had 5EXY on her old Morrie Thou' and was offered well more than the heap was worth, to get that plate ! B-)

As for Sarah's attitude, it does sound defeatist I suppose but I rather feel that she's just trying to prepare herself for the worst and save being taken totally by surprise if things don't work out as she hoped. They've still only just started dating too so if Lucy drops her now she could prob move on a lot easier than she might be able to later on. Additionally, Sarah also says she has got over Janey as well but I don't totally believe that either! ;)

Hi guys, that's quite a discussion between you all here.:) Firstly though the number plate! I never gave the mini one at the start but I have a funny feeling I did give it one at some point so I really need to try and find out what it is! I like DV's take on it though! lol Bear: I really like that but I'm not sure if Sarah is the sort of person to go for such luxury on her limited income! ;)

How about 554RAH - that's about the nearest you could get in the U.K. to a 'custom' plate B-) I use 105ERS for my character's kombi (i.e. LOSERS) B-)

DarkVisor: I used to do the same with any new relationship: I used to think that I would get over my new love interest just like I did with my former partners, if I had to. Maybe it's because I wanted to protect myself. I also used to try to get out of any relationship at the first sign of any kind of problem. It doesn't look like Sarah is one willing to pull out easily, though, so, she's probably quite different from me, which makes me guess that it's not a good sign what she just said.

MGH: the plate has been blurred to protect the innocent (or was that the guilty?) Glad to see that Nicky has changed her opinion on Lucy, but doesn't sound too positive in the last panel if Sarah is already considering being able to get over Lucy (you can never really 'get over' someone if you truly love them, the best you can hope for is to 'move forward', eventually)

Looks like we're putting a cap on the intro to this relationship... Sarah seems to have hopeful but mature expectations (perhap a touch of cynicism but that's just realistic). Looking forward to see it develop further. Love all the scenes here - and I agree that red mini rules!

I always love the panels with your old mini in....your story about the bookshop owner pings a nerve. I SO wish I'd got a camera earlier than I did ( just before my daughter was born ) _and_ replaced it when it 'died' in the 90s. Basically I wish I'd taken LOTS more fotos of everything. I'd be using them a lot for reference on B.E. ...instead of the few I can glean from faceache friends, etc. B\

Oh, Sarah, is that wishful thinking what you stated at the very end? I guess it does happen to other people. We think we have the situation under control and we can get over stuff, but it's not always true. Still, even if it was true, it's curious that she says that at the very beginning of her relationship with Lucy, as if she wanted not to get herself too involved for fear of being hurt - perhaps? Or is she trying to reassure Nikky? Maybe both?
