SS6 27 Lucy remembers
skyangel on April 29, 2017
The story so far.. Sarah's girlfriend Lucy suffered a mental breakdown after her previous girlfriend Laura died in front of her. Up until now the memory of that fateful day has been blocked by the trauma but in a sudden flashback Lucy has now recalled everything that happened.
Flashbacks are normally triggered by a connection with the past event and you'll no doubt work that out as this short arc unfolds, but it'll become clear enough anyway as the pages progress.
On a sideline note, it's lovely to be able to get back to the more romantic side of things again. I know the subject matter is still dark
but the affection the characters show towards each other is something I
always enjoy doing, especially when it conerns the main players, and it always gives me a buzz when the art comes back with that extra life Becky breathes into it with her colouring.
Next week: Lucy takes us back to the events of that night so we too can share the experience with her, so be prepared! ;)

So now we go down the tale tale heart.

Dear Sky, You are so expert at showing the more romantic side of things. I remember when Sarah and Janey were playing with those sex toys the art work was great. Very warm loving moment for Lucy and Sarah. Great art Becky! tommym

Tommym: Ahh yes, the golden moment when Sarah first succumbed to using the strap on which was so delicately obscured by the bubbling lava lamp in the foreground! lol From my own viewpoint I do feel my best art comes from the pages where my emotional input is at it's strongest. I loved doing the Lenore pages as you can no doubt tell but the other times I get quite absorbed is when Janey and Sarah are together or Nikki and Sarah are. I think those pages generally have an extra special feel about them that comes from my heart. I've struggled with Lucy at times because I'm still so attached to Janey but like Sarah in the story, my affection for Lucy is there in varying strengths depending on the scene.

Lucy re-telling the event to someone not connected will be good for her: Sarah may notice something that doesn't quite 'fit', something that may better explain what _actually_ happened, and help Lucy finally stop running (metaphorically) and be able to lay Laura to rest ... Has Lucy had the chance to actually mourn the death of her girlfriend? o_O
DarkVisor at 12:36PM, May 1, 2017
By 'not connected', meant 'not involved in the events or were around at the time'

DV: That's an interesting point. From personal experience I prefer to share sensitive stuff with others who have been through the same sort of thing and understand where I'm coming from but on the other hand if I feel a lot of guilt attached to my own actions I'd be much happier discussing that with someone whose confidentiality I truly trusted or a totally anon person online who I felt gave sensible advice but also didn't know enough about me to be a threat. It'll certainly be interesting to hear all you guys opinions on Lucy's story once it's told.

(sternly) You don't want to hear it, young lady, but that's what you do in a relationship - you put your partner first. Plus like Kim said, I REALLY want to hear it!
skyangel at 2:55PM, May 8, 2017
Fred: You never talk out of your a** I just couldn't resist the humour of it! ;)
fredhedges at 9:40AM, May 1, 2017
It wouldn't be the first time I was guilty of talking out my a**!
skyangel at 5:00AM, April 30, 2017
Fred: I assume you mean sternly as in serious and not as talking from the rear! :) You're quite right tho. I think Sarah's tired and has had enough of a shock just facing Lenore, and now she's confronted with this when she probably just wants to have a relaxing bath do something more fun, but it's such a pivotal moment for Lucy that she knows she really does have to go with her wishes.

Oh boy, we'll finally find out what happened. I think that crow knows more than he's letting on and there's still that bottle thingy which must be found and got rid of.
skyangel at 4:04AM, April 30, 2017
Don't let go of that bottle Mo, you might see a connection to it soon. ;)

This is really tugging me heart string... I agree, seeing them together, holding each other (and looking good doing it) during a tender moment, is a respite from all the dark drama we've gone through (excellent dark drama, though...!!) Sarah might not want to hear it - but I do!!!
skyangel at 4:03AM, April 30, 2017
Kim: haha As I just said to Infected below (that sounds so bad!!) the readers need to know, so Sarah has to listen! It's integral to the whole story though as well so it has to come out.:)
Infected Blood at 5:26AM, April 29, 2017
Poor Lucy... And poor Sarah. Not an easy situation to face, but I'm afraid Sarah will have to listen, for the good of their relationship. BTW, great emotional page, I love how they get progressively closer and closer both physically and emotionally (although Sarah is understandably ready to withdraw at the very end!...)
skyangel at 3:49AM, April 30, 2017
Infected: You're almost right, Sarah HAS to listen for the good of the READERSHIP! lol The affection is clearly all coming from Sarah here as Lucy's in a bit of a state but I still enjoyed how Sarah kinda creeps tentatively in and ends up in a full hug with the girl she cares so much about. :)
BearinOz at 4:29AM, April 29, 2017
More suspense...
skyangel at 2:21AM, April 30, 2017
Bear: I know! *cringes* I'm five pages ahead now and when I posted last week I had thought laura starts spilling the story straight away but then I noticed this week she's barely started so I apologise for that.
