SS6 54 Ron's story 4

Sooooo…..To recap Ron's story, Ron had a brief fling with his bosses wife Catherine when he was a young man and she became pregnant but decided her marriage or the wealthy life she was accustomed to was worth more than starting a new life with Ron. Ron went off and met Helen instead and together they married and had Lucy together. Eight years later, on the success of his own business ventures the family finally moved to Carlingford. It was at this point that Catherine discovered she had terminal cancer and got in touch with Ron when she became concerned about Laura's future.

Probably the biggest question that remains to be answered is whether Laura really is Ron's child or not as the legitimacy of the relationship between Laura and Lucy affects so many people in a way Ron never would have thought!

Well... I... Hmmmm... I still think he could have made the situation better... somehow, but I see where he's coming from, so there's some empathy! Not a lot - but some! Agree with FC, really hope you work Laura into this tale at some point!! *wink*

Kim: Haha Yes we will get to meet Laura ;) You're right about Ron too, he's a simple man at heart and he's made a hash of things but what I rather like about him is that his motives for the most part are good, most of the time.

Dear Sky, DarkVisor I am a bit confused. Maybe Catherine knew the baby was her husbands all along. Maybe I am wrong about all of this. And yes both girls are old enough to know the truth. tommym

I hope we get to meet Laura at some point in the story, to see how she turned out. The only consistent theme in her entire life was being rejected by every caregiver she ever had.

Dear Sky, This all seems a bit confusing to me. If Laura is not Ron's daughter that would mean Catherine lied to him. Allowing Ron to believe it was his daughter. All of a sudden I am thinking Lucy and Laura are not blood related and can now get married and live together happily ever after:) tommym

Tommym: I know it's rather a lot to digest in one page but you've got the right idea. :) At this point in Ron's story it seems his wife Helen is not very convinced Laura is really his child but Ron want's to believe it's true out of his love for Catherine, so all we can think about for the moment is what Catherine might have hoped to gain by deliberately deceiving Ron. Infected has given one possible reason below. ;)
