In the year 2036 humans started to develop special powers without explanation. The scientist who studied this phenomenon linked the awakening of power to the complete and total awakening of the mind and humans being able to use 100% of their brain power. Scientists had dubbed these people as espers. These same espers began to wreak havoc on earth with their powers and eventually the world entered the dark ages where espers ruled. Though some goodhearted espers remained and they rose up to battle their evil counterparts. The world was sent into an even worse state due to the calamities caused by the superhuman battles taking place. Finally, humanity had enough and the EEF was formed (Esper Eradication Force) with specially developed techniques and weapons. Soon Espers both good and bad were hunted and prosecuted. Over 90 years later in 2126, Espers still exist but are battered and looked down on. The EEF has changed into the ETF (Esper Tracking Force). Aster is a newly awakened esper who is hiding his ability from his family especially his father the head of the ETF.
