Well Ava and Danek have stowed away on a reaper ship, but Monty has a lot of responsibilities among the living, the Thermal and Jack situation was Jack being his reactionary over protective self, and Thermal being inexperienced in dealing with living people his own age.

As I understand from previous pages pooka kits are raised somewhat communally and that adult pooka will claim/adopt children that are parentless. I suppose thats what led to child abduction stories. Since some naughty children will leave the house and get lost. A pooka seeing the child unaccompanied will assume it is orphaned and take the child in. Though I'm sure some will try to find the parents

the nest is only safe if the child has no way to know how to locate the nest, they had this issue with Elvina until she officially joined them.

I imagine trying to find the parents depends on the situation, might be viable for traveling groups, whom are more often mixed race, but not stationary ones after the child learns the location of their nest, most pooka only have their shapeshifting, so all but the largest colonies would be particularly vulnerable if discovered. Their favored tactics usually rely on the element of surprise,

@riley Compounds do that too, its the draw distance that matters in that regard, not the limb length, and you can more easily adjust the weight on a compound, which can make them good for training, as you can more easily increase the weight as the trainee gets stronger. Granted a Khopesh isn't exactly easy to use compared to a hook sword or a battle axe which are effectively the two weapons it evolved into.

It would be siblings rather than friends. But I don’t think Lana would introduce them anytime soon. What with Boo being around. Especially due to the situation between Thermal and Jack. When that situation gets resolved or Lana is forced to than maybe. By forced, I mean when Lana ends up unlocking her transformation abilities and needs to learn how to use them. Since I believe Lana’s real form resembles Thermal and Pip. As it stands Warmwind is too protective to let them hang out in the living world.

Well it also depends on what form the pooka is in as well. If a lone pooka shapeshifts and takes the child home in disguise than the nest is safe

Skye practices long bow? Wouldn't recurve or compound be better not just for size (generally a longbow is about as tall as the archer) but for mounted archery? I get not training them in more modern magazine bows those are more for hunting and are apparently very simple to use (they only have been around a few years) and training the art and discipline is probably the main objective of their martial education, even if the kids don't realize it

Longbows are considered easier to shoot as the longer length disperses the bow weight over a larger area..

yeah you can't really play the "I'm dangerous" antisocial card in the Fiveclaw/Thenatos/Hades households, of those in all the branches that have unlocked their abilities, Walter is probably the least dangerous of them, of the ones that reside with the living, excluding Mango (hard to quantity goddess of time as she's basically on all parts of the list simultaneously), it probably goes something like Monty (once made Alpha), HG, Spencer, Lana, Summer, Boo, Sky (Lan and WW's mother), rest of the Dragon's in the family including Jess, all of Lan's adult children, then Walter.
