Unplug the Jukebox
antcomics on Nov. 27, 2007
And here is the August page for the Antcomics 2008 Calendar! Yeaa!
For June and July, I did summer themes. So I decided to do something different for August. If any of you have ever seen the video for ‘Antmusic’, you'll get it right away. For those deprived souls who haven't, there is a scene in it where the Ants unplug a giant plug from a giant outlet (when they say “unplug the jukebox” of course)…this is a cartoon rendition of that.
Except in mine, Terry Lee stuck his finger in the outlet…not a big surprise.
No big holidays happen in August, so I really could do whatever I pleased with this one. I like how it turned out.
FTW, I have stuck my finger in an outlet. I was a little kid though, and I don't think my skeleton showed.

I've stuck my finger in a lamp socket once(then once again with similar results) my arm went all numb it's an experience I don't feel like repeating.

When I'm at work people come up to me and make electrocution sounds and start shaking. Freakin jerks. too bad they don't know I'm working on internet cables...

LOL I don't know why but all of a sudden I started hearing a distorted version of a very well known song... "Whoooo took the plug out? ZAP! Zap, zap, zap!" It's fun to be weird ;) And I should really check out some Ant videos on Youtube.

Crocty: I like to call it 'artist's license' nightlight: Hehe good point. There are a lot of things that happen in cartoons that don't in real life...I think it's mostly Looney Tunes' fault? Cham Kid: Thanks! I can appreciate how difficult skeletons are to draw now. Even thought we drew 'em in figure drawing class all the time...that sucked rocks. GTLB: Soon as I am done with all twelve months and my partner in crime finished the calendar part (y'know, with the numbers and all) I will post a link here.

I always wondered if your skeleton REALLY shows, or if it's just some sort of visual convention... like sweatdrops and hearts and stuff. one day I'll be tempted enough to try it out, for the sake of ... comics.
GTLB at 12:21PM, Nov. 28, 2007
Great work as always! There is just so much flow to what you do. How do I get a calender?
crocty at 12:02PM, Nov. 28, 2007
:O A mistake? But no, keep it as it is. Noone's complaining. Except me, but since when does MY opinion count..
Chameleon Kid at 11:09AM, Nov. 28, 2007
So funny! XD *lol* Great work on the skeleton btw. ;) And I love the colors and expressions! (The shading is awesome as well.) I'm one of those 'deprived souls' but I like your cartoon rendition anyway. 8D

ncbaddwolf at 10:33AM, Nov. 28, 2007
Owie! Just stuck my finger in an outlet to see my skeleton...now I taste purple and can't remember long division!
TheMidge28 at 10:02AM, Nov. 28, 2007
not familiar with the video...but love the comic none the less. I can imagine the video...was it like those eighties videos? Classic!
antcomics at 9:30AM, Nov. 28, 2007
crocy: Ours have three also. I think the plug in the video has two though, but you know...it's only a prop. :o) Brock: Thanks. Drawing Marco's teeth was fun, in particular. Polo: Thanks for stopping by! PR: Yep, it does. I like to post the line art over at DA just to sort of show a 'before and after'. It's fun...
