Issue 2 Page 14

Uploading early this weekend due to Sunday commitments.
This page is an odd one for a number of reasons; I somehow ended up landing a fart joke alongside a deeply unpleasant revelation about Burkhard.
Additionally, this is also the first fully digital page I’ve uploaded. I went with the change as I felt it hasn’t really affected the general style, rather just making the art sharper and speeding up production. I’ll be interested to hear other people’s thoughts on this mind…

UPDATE (10/08/2019): Sorry folks, no page update this weekend - had family commitments taking up lots of time so it looks I’ll be posting a week Sunday instead. Apologies!

The transition to digital looks good. The stylistic choices of your drawing style remain the same, but your lines are slightly finer in the digital version. It gives a more subtle look to the shading. It also looks slightly less like a woodcut, but I don't know if that's important to you. The difference is very minor, though. What software are you using to draw with?

Photoshops lines can look a bit clunky so I'd definitely be open to an alternative. Shall give it a look, thanks for the suggestion! :)

I use Photoshop for color, but I use clip studio paint for my ink work. I feel that it gives a nicer sense of gesture.

Thanks! A few people have told me similar things so it seems like it was largely a change for the better. Presently I'm using Photoshop with some brush addons and a Wacom tablet together - for the most part it meets my needs. There are some aspects of pen and paper that I will miss; as you say, the woodcut comparison is less evident now and there's less a feeling I can draw a page anywhere. Ultimately though, there are too many benefits digital brings to ignore. I still pencil page roughs mind!
