#2 - Summer Camp: The Strawshank Redemption

Beaums on July 23, 2007

Well hey there! Looks like Attempted Fishmath is back in the saddle with a second issue! Though this webcomic was going to go stagnant after one comic eh? Well you thought wrong! Get out of my face! Oh wait… don't get out of my face. I need readers…

This comic takes me back to my younger summer days at Camp Madawasca. When I was asked to create some summer-themed comics for the July issue of Youthink Magazine, I just couldn't help but think of those classic summer camp moments. Camp Madawasca actually did have a carnival, in which straws were made use of instead of cash. Of course, I thought the world of the event back then and had a most joyous time, but I was young and easily swayed! Today, Camp Madawasca's carnival seems like nothing but a half-baked, piece o' garbage idea. But I shouldn't be too hard on it. After all, it inspired this second issue of Attempted Fishmath!

Oh and just so you know… Yes, that bizarre little creature with the backwards cap and the ridiculous lips is named FIshmath. Yes, Fishmath. Originally, I was going to leave him nameless, or call him something goofy like… like Peebster! But I don't know… I guess I was pushed for time or something. Fishmath ended up being a last resort-type thang. Because the title of this comic actually did come before the name of the main character. (The more you know!)

Don't forget that noise you heard,
Beaums

P.S. Thanks for stopping by Locoma! It feels good to be back with a new comic. I really regret that dormant period I went through for a bit there. But anyways, I'm glad you like the new material. Oh, and I'm working on cutting down my notes…. Just give it some time! :P
