Some time ago I wrote and drew an adaptation of Le Voyage Dans La Lune, the classic 1902 fantasy film by Georges Melies. Loosely derived from H.G. Wells' A Trip To The Moon, this movie is one of the first pieces of cinema to contain a cohesive narrative. Although a pioneering work, it is also celebrated for its imaginative visuals and impressive set pieces.

Many tributes to this film exist. For example, The Smashing Pumpkins used this story for the springboard to their music video for “Tonight, Tonight”. More recently, Martin Scorcese referenced Melies' work extensively in his film Hugo.

My adaptation will run for ten pages. It isn't a strict transcription of the original, but I feel that anyone will be able to recognize my affection for the source material. I produced a small print run of this story recently and the feedback was largely positive. I hope the internet crowd will accept it with comparable enthusiasm.
