This is the third update this week; make sure you don't miss the previous two!
Today we get to see Force Magellan operating as a fairly professional outfit with Vertigo calling the shots. Team books have always been my favorite slice of superhero pie and that's a large part of the premise behind the broader Magellan universe. In particular I love that team books allow for the switching of perspectives and for following several threads within any given story.
So anyway, long before Crossoverkill was proposed to me it was Al who came up with the idea of Ranger Bill having a crush on Mindmistress. Over in the pages of MM's comic Al shows him turning into incoherent mush in her presence (here and here) which I found pretty amusing. I decided to carry that idea forward into his interaction with Mindmistress in this current sequence.
As for the Master Assassin's self-inflicted mutilations… when I designed him I figured he might be more interesting without ears or a nose - and then decided he had also cut them off himself (probably to prove a point behind his insane theories). But why stop there? I just love that last panel between Ranger Bill and Mindmistress. Some scenes write themselves.
Due to a death in the family, Stephen will only be publishing three pages next week instead of five. If any further changes in the plan occur, we'll keep you posted.
Oh, and you can see Energize confront both Legend and Nemesis of the HU (remember when they fought MM earlier?) at Energize's comic, and of course Magellan had a new update Wednesday and of course here at Drunk Duck we're catching up on Magellan with daily updates, starting from the beginning. (Unfortunately, I didn't get finished with the MM Friday update before I had to leave this morning, because of some inclement weather, but I'll update that tonight.)

i feel MM's pain, i accociate myself with idiots like that everyday... sometimes im one of them due to my assburgers.
final panel is excellent. Really love the magellan universe - only discovered your comic through becoming involved in Crossoverkill but highly recommend everyone who hasn't read it to check it out!
