For those of you following TORCHWOOD, you might see an example of how a world without Death wouldn't exactly be paradise. We weren't inspired by that—nor they us—just coincidence. (Although it's eerie how much the cult “The Soulless” looks like the Character Assassins earlier in the story…) We'll see some more concrete examples later in the story. I liked the way I drew a lot of these characters, although I'm not totally satisfied with Yuuki on panel one. It was fun to draw the Knight unmasked, since he can't eat through his helmet.—Al
I remember when i was a kid there was a Jim Henson show on that had stories, and one was of a guy that captured Death. Basically world turned into what they are all talking about here. Interesting how ideas and stories resurface in new ways. :3
In most webcomics I've seen with a death personification removing the personification of death probably wouldn't end the cessation of biological activity. Rather it would lead to a flood of ghosts, liches, zombies and other such "lost soul" phenomena
@clem: clarifying what xmung said: Knight has a comic, but not a currently updating one. The story is finished. However, you can find the Knight in Point Guardian (http://www.pointguardian.com) as well. Though it is also finished (and did so before the Knight's own comic started), it has so much to it that it doesn't matter. You'll still be taking some time to read the whole thing. I don't think Ben's current comic is superhero, though, so I haven't checked it out, but it likely isn't in the same universe.
@clem - the character pics at the top of the page all link to the respective character's home comic... just click on the pic of the Knight to go to his comic.
Great page Al!

My dad has been watch Torchwood, and the way he describes a world without death is brutal.

And does Fusion's "partner", 'Bob', have no concept of the proper methodology of eating corn-on-the-cob? It is finger food, 'Bob'. 5

did we miss something, or is captain perfect just trying to talk up the action thus far?
Dragonfire10503 at 2:16PM, Aug. 18, 2011
Captain Perfect's going to find his head in a toilet one of these days...

Well, he DID say "bucket head", not "shell head"... --Al
Ozmandious at 6:22AM, Aug. 18, 2011
just keep the "shell head" comments to a minimum, don't want the Disney legal giants to hunt you down...

Still I don't see any of the heroes putting "We saved Death" on their resumes. ;-)

Poor Fusion... Most imaginary voices encourage mischief and mayhem. Hers scolds her for sloppy behaviour, and isn't imaginary.
