Having convinced Amy to go to bed, Danielle has taken refuge in the guest room for a much-needed feeding. Her cooler of “supplements” (of the A positive variety) is filled with an ample supply for the uncertain days ahead.

Not sure this would work well in real life, also not sure if it would matter to a vampire. Blood is alive, needs oxygen, which leaks through the special plastic used for blood bags. They are stored on wire racks in single layers I think, not stacked in coolers.

You're probably right, but this is a bioengineered blood substitute. It isn't as good as the real thing, but it will satisfy Danielle's needs in a pinch. And as you alluded, this isn't real life. : )

I like how her expressions again speak volumes here. The animalistic side of her existence (if I can call it that) demands its due but it doesn't stop all those worrisome things from going on in her mind. Or it kind of shows how for a vampire these blood donation bags are after all, while undoubtedly a handy and humane solution, just what instant microwave meals are to our kind. ;)

Danielle knew she would be somewhat isolated at the Hansen farm. She brought plenty of blood because she didn't want to succumb to her vampiric needs and risk feeding upon her friends. You are right about her mind being focused on the possible threats to Lizzy and her parents.
