Death Outside the Brothel #5
DetectiveFork on March 24, 2007
Even though this comic was drawn a few weeks ago, Custard Trout gets credit for guessing Clarissa's “undead” return.
This comic is the point at which this storyline divides. If you go to detectivefork.com on Monday (March 25), you'll see a version of this comic with a different ending, in which “Detective Fork” crosses over with the one, the great “Zortic” by Mark Mekkes. The crossover in “Zortic” is already starting, in fact, so check it out. Anyway, because I have to finish drawing the last few strips of the crossover, it'll likely be a week or so before I update this version of the story. Please follow the alternate version on detectivefork.com and zortic.com, though.
I stole Cincy74's idea for a jukebox on the page. I always wondered what a “Detective Fork” soundtrack would have on it but figured only 1930's music would be appropriate. Since I know little about that, I gave up. So, the playlist here is of songs that really appeal to me and the creative part of me from which comes Detective Fork. They mostly have something dark about them, something etheral, something driving. And “Mekong,” by my favorite band The Refreshments, is a great drinking song. I hope you enjoy them.

I just now noticed that you named this comic "Death outside brothel." This brothel wouldn't happen to be a short bus would it?

Wow! Wired... Back from the dead. A naked zombie. Sexy, but strange. Love the police tape over her nipples! ^^

Cool strip! Heavy on the black, which I really like.

She's sexy, in a messed up undead angel fork way. ...I don't know what to feel.

For the record sir, you need to get the track from Batman Beyond called "City of Lights" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Great song, and it'd be the perfect theme song to Detective Fork, IMHO. And I have a D4K-soundtrack. I wanted to offer it as a CD to sorta buy, sorta a 'build your own D4K Soundtrack' where you can take what we suggest or download your own thing. You can try that. Also, iTunes has a 1930's music collection I'm sure, you can use or listen to clips of. While it's not 'dark', the music back then might help with writing a frame of mind for your Non Player characters so to speak, aka, the other characters besides the basic cast of DF. :-D

I tried the playlist thing for a while, but it eventually got on my nerves. But with a good mix, it can have a great effect!

It's actually an apparently badly drawn coatrack.

Maybe it was just me, but I thought the cactus had a mustache. (Nice radio. Oasis is on it, nice.) You should try radio.blog.
