Here it is, the first strip. Amazing how much time and effort it takes for such a small image. :-P I am drawing the strip in pencil and inking, coloring, and adding text in Paint Shop Pro (using a mouse right now – but I'm practicing with my tablet). I haven't decided if I want to do any real shading/highlights on his strip. I like it in the hair, but it could be distracting (and time consuming) to do more.
Oh, and the main male character is based loosely on my brother. (I also had a minor “cameo” character in Used Books based on him.) The female character isn't based on anyone.

This is a nice start! Great job on the linework and the colors, of course! It looks like they're drinking tar but hey, they're scientists -- maybe it's a top secret military experiment...or maybe they're just getting drunk. *shrugs* XD

@DAJB: Peer pressure. XD amanda: Thanks. I decided to make it easy on myself (and simple works well for gag strips, imo). @PyThomas: I might take you up on that. I'd like to do cameos (since I can't with my other project), and there do need to be ample numbers of scientists running around. ~_^

Looks awesome! I think this comic has great potential. (If you'd like to include Cassie as a cameo, by all means go right ahead. She majored in Physics in college and is currently a nanotech engineer.)

@man_in_black: Thanks @patrick: XD Common sense safety rule is never eat or drink anything in a lab. However... I did have professors who liked to borrow glucose for their coffee. (It's sweeter than sucrose.)
