Sorry for the lateness of this week's strip. I've been doing stuff with my family. This wasn't originally intended as a holiday strip. I thought of the concept a while ago. However, all these dishes can make for a delicious Thanksgiving feast (well, no cranberries or succotash…), so we'll pretend it was meant for the holidays and therefore my lateness could be seen as intentional. ;-)
Btw, the hand over the mouth is supposed to just be for whispering, but it ended up looking a little like she's sick. Oh well. Either way works.

Flemming studied mold (specifically, penicillin). Franklin not only argued for turkeys to be out national bird, he reportedly cooked one using electricity. And Burbank was a botanist who developed the Burbank potato.

ewwwwwwww! heheh I got the Mendel and Newton reference, and the Flemming appears to be a pun. But the other two stumped me. :)

@nyj I love succotash. My sister and a friend of mine HATE it because of the lima beans. @man in black Back @ you @amanda Mmmmm... Potatoes are delicious. I wouldn't care if they turned my skin purple and gave me cancer. XD @Mushroomcomix I'm glad you enjoyed the strip. ^_^

(^U^) Love the subliminal turkey with Franklin's name.... I had to look up succotash... go figure I'm half Indian (it's an Indian dish, according to wikipedia.org).... I've always called it beans and corn... (-_-) *hangs head in embarrassment...

Ack! I hate that cartoon! It creeps me out! But yes, they did seem to "forget the gravy" here.

For some reason I remembered that old Loony Tunes cartoon, the one where this huge bulldog had a cat, and he would make him give him the food the different owners of the cat gave him, and whenever the dog was going to eat, he'd exclaim "WHAT!? No gravy!?", followed by some serious pwnage, and a plot twist ending worthy of Alfred Hitchcock XD

@patrickdevine: I love genetics, so Mendel is my thing. ;-) @ghostrunner: Alas, there was no scientist to bring them! (Personally, I need succotash on my table for Thanksgiving.)
ghostrunner at 10:33PM, Nov. 26, 2008

patrickdevine at 10:30PM, Nov. 26, 2008
Well... I get the pie and the turkey... Remember how I said that your comics make me look things up? I actually really like that about them!
