And we are back to March (timeline wise in the comic) as the wheels start to come off of the Jesus campaign. This volume will go back and forth to present day to the months leading up to the election so expect some jumping around. As I write this, I am hours away from boarding a plane for Mexico. My girlfriend surprised me with a trip to Mexico (I don't know where as it is part of the surprise) for the next week. I joked to many that it was a scouting mission for the future site of Dale's Home for Expatriate Artists and Freethinkers but too many people thought I was serious.
Anyway, so if all goes well, the next page will update on Tuesday at 9 am Eastern Time. And if not, well…. then it be updated on Wednesday evening when i get back.
I had this strip originally in Volume 2 and held it back for a reason I couldn't articulate. Yesterday, I saw a clip of Chuck Todd confessing that since Trump's election, he has been up most nights wondering how the media got where they are and what role, if any, were they to blame for Trump's election. So, yeah… it was time for this to get posted as I think I answer a few questions posed in Chuck Todd's soul searching. Plus, it works much better thematically with Volume 3.
You are right. There are no journalist left in the media. Now it just a bunch of people who are in the infotainment business all controlled by the 1%. Add in the fake "news" stories, the constant fear of Black people(men), terrorism (Muslims), and foreigners in media with the lack of education that train critical thinking skills, and you have a bunch of white people willing to vote against their own interest. The only people who won in Nov was the 1%... just like they planned.
You nailed it. The media thought they were reporting the crash of Trump's candidacy instead it turned into the failure of the entire media to look beyond bias and at the real turn of events. But then one doesn't need any knowledge of American political history, let alone the Constitution to be a reporter. Populist demagogue. Andrew Jackson in the computer age.
