My new working life
BigFishComic on July 28, 2007
My life now consists of…
7:00am wake up
7:20am leave for BART
8:30am arrive at work
5:30pm leave work
6:30pm arrive home and eat dinner
7:30-10pm watch tv, surf the internet, read
10pm prepare for bed and sleep
EVERY DAY.
It's no wonder all people talk about when they're older is work and their children. Nothing you learn in college is useful any more and your grades really never mattered because employers rarely ask for them.
ps. Yay comments.

Well, think of it this way: You've graduated college, your're working for gametrailers.com. It's true it could've been a lot more exciting but then again... Take me for example, I'm turning 20 in like two weeks, I'm barely in my 2nd year in college (there's no such thing as majors/minors in my country so I have to basically study all sorts of unrelated crap like philosphy, economics, politics, etc). Added to that there's the related crap, of which 90% is comprised of lots of math and physics. WTF do we need 4 courses of electronics when our profile should be software engineering beats me... Not that I hate it, but it's 4 extra exams to study for (mechanically learn problems and theory). My sincere advice for you is to find a job that allows you to create (in your field), there's nothing worse than finishing an IT-related college and ending up as an (from what you described here) accountant.

Life becomes an interesting balancing act. It seems you can't add something new unless something else gets sacrificed. And prioritizing on that scale is a bitch. I feel your pain.

lol at first i thought it said "I'm always at work or sleeping with friends" but i just realized it was "I'm always at work, with friends, or sleeping" XD OOPS haha. Well yeah i know how that feels, last year i had a real taste of being busy because i picked up a few orgs, worked part time, took my classes, and had to squeeze in time for my bf. I hardly had time to do things like practice meeh guitar, and im not expecting next year to be any different :(

The reason I started drunkduck in the first place was because it was the one place where I could unwind after a busy schedule during the school year. I'm working full-time at my workplace over the summer but I need to do art because it keeps me satiated. Hanging out with friends is expensive and takes a lot of time and I normally sacrifice sleep in order to take care of other things.

One day just stay in bed all day and forget about everything around you. That few seconds after you wake up and before you come to the realization of the events of the day are the best thing in life, second best to getting what you want.
