HK gets a call from Whisper Song herself a plea to join the response to a huge natural disaster. Normally HK is allowed to hunt on her own and she generally hunts lost souls. She leaves routine deaths to the rank and file reapers. She has advantages being alive in contrast to her colleagues who are dead. This should be routine, right? Right?

Double checked Wiki. Says sound went around world 3 1/2 times, not 5, although only instruments "heard" it most of those times. Relevant note - sound 100 miles away estimated at 180db. Equivalent to four Tsar Bomba's at once.

If this is anything like Krakatoa, 20 minutes is NOT enough time to get away, even with a helicopter. Some sailors 40 miles away were deafened, permanently I suspect.

Krakatoa's sound went around the world 5 times. It was detected by sensitive equipment, eg high quality barometers.

Yes Krakatoa is the templet I am using here. HK is traveling through the underworld so is not affected. The Institute is on the other side of the world so it is safe from the explosion. Even after the detonation I doubt anything will be able to fly for hours. The only things the Institute people can do is mobilize and organize. There are tsunamis and shock waves that circumnavigated the world one and a half times. The Mall is a city we have visited. Plug and Dark Eye’s joined the Institute students there. The Crimson Garden restaurant is there which is a cover for Naght Kreig’s racket and Dark Eyes made Fox Fur a healer there. Yes the Mall is well established and about to get very moist.

Thankfully, the volcano was uninhabited prior to detonation. It is definitely uninhabited afterwards.
