One question-why do I have to read from the bottom up at each panel to read it in order? I've read backwards, forewards, and traditional manga styles, but not down to up...funny comics though.

You should use the text boxes from the games! And use the mugshots, that way, you don't need text box tails or anything, and it's easy.
