This is the essay by the way.
It was written during the younger days of the internet so some of the references to usenet are a little outdated, thought the principle is compelling and I think that its discussion on Anonymity (or as you all so lovingly call it, the “pussy button”) is rather strong, with an overall message that connects it to higher ideals of freedom of speech. And even as one anon said on the last page, you aren't using your real full names as your usernames so that in and of itself is a layer of anonymity.
So yes, I'm glad you hated and disliked this comic those that did. I hope (though doubt) you have learned something about yourself and the work you are uploading onto this site.

Post Mortem: So many years later and this was still the greatest criticism pulled on the sprite comic community. God bless you, Kris1, you incredible bastard. The amount of people going "HEY YOU DONT HAVE TO BE MAD I GAVE YOU CRITICISM. YOU JUST NEED TO GET BETTER AT IT" is incredible. You all got whoooosh'd pretty hard because that was the whole point. Kris1 was mimicking your comic's quality on purpose with no intention to make their own genuine sprite comic. This could have served as a cautionary tale and well, I guess we know how that worked out given the state of sprite comics right now (basically dead). Shame, though, sprite comics had so much potential but everyone was busy circlejerking about the status quo and belittled newbies which killed the growth. But hopefully everyone has grown better as people 10 years later. Or perhaps not, who knows? R.I.T. sprite comics, you will be and also will not be missed.

... ...Oh gosh, why did I ignore this comic? I could have gotten in on the flame war. Shit, this totally would have made my whole week better. Anyway, time for my two cents. And yes, I'm ready to get flamed. I don't give a shit, unlike the rest of these guys. I am amazed and appalled. Many of you were my idols back when I sprited. You were all cool, and your comics are amazing. But now, apparently, you've all gotten butthurt (couldn't think of a better word) because ONE FREAKING GUY WITHOUT ANY SORT OF RECOGNITION ON THIS SITE flames your comics. Yeah, he put the actual flame in the comic, but a flame is a flame. Last time I saw many of you get flamed, you ignored it. Why do you choose now to act like idiots? I'm not flaming any of you, I'm trying to make you see. As I said, I don't sprite anymore. But when I did, I took constructive critisizm. And that's what you should have done, Kris. Instead of getting angry at people trying to help you, you should have applied what they said. The spriting community is (mostly) full of good people. And these good people were trying to help you. It's situations like this that give the spriting community a bad name. Thanks guys. And, if this was an experiment, you weren't supposed to freaking tell them! It ruins the whole experiment. I just learned the name in psych class, it just escapes me. If only google would help...damn google. tl;dr? Here, lemme sum it up for you: YOU'RE ALL ACTING LIKE IDIOTS AND I HOPE YOU LEARN.

To be honest, I think it's really retarded that you took up your free time to make a comic to diss people when they all find it hilarious. Also, most of those of those things are correct. They do do the wrong things. But here: Do you expect charliemew to MAKE a sky sprite? That would take a while, meaning he wouldn't be able to update. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a real sky. There are no bits. Also, I agree with you. I don't think Mario should be in comics unless you do a mario sprite FRLG style. However, he does it. So what? And it's not a character that doesn't belong. It's a Mario CROSSOVER comic. He's supposed to be there. Also, these guys haven't got egos. When I first met KD, I critisized him so bad he LOST his ego. ( =D ) I believe they were being mean to you BECAUSE of your ego. Then speech bubbles. 1. Speech bubbles shouldn't be coloured. 2. There should always be speech bubbles, not boxes. So, to some aspects, I agree with you. But here's one thing: what have you accomplished? Does pointing out everybodys faults really make you a better comicer, or a better person? And really everybody: LEAVE HIM ALONE. This is what he wants. And, don't call him a kid, because I'm a kid. I'm only thirteen. Also, why does it have to be so horrible? Just be nice for once! Who cares if he's a troll, some of the things being said are WAY out of line. Also, has anyone made a Spider Man comic? If you haven't, you probably don't know how these comics should be done. You all seem to forget: THIS IS A COMIC. Not a whole: I want to do it my way.

you all do realize that you are aguing over a comic strip?!? if you dont like the strip.. DONT READ IT!!! its as simple as that, if you do like the strip... THEN READ IT!! we dont have to get worked up about stupid things. this is the internet after all. nothing that happens here can hurt us in real life. (usually) as for me. i like this comic and will continue to read it as long as kris continues to make it. 5 stars man!

I've been on here on two different account for a total of 5 or so years.. and I have never never seen this. I won't say enither side has a point.... but serousely?
