I'm going to hell for this, I really am. I knew it when the thought first entered my head 4 months ago. I don't like to publicly make light of a rather serious situation, but this is something that has been so firmly embedded in my head from LARPing and general Role Playing - quantifying real life events in terms of game physics.

Maybe it was a bigger thing in NYC cause that covered the news for a couple of weeks, as if there was no other news ever.
I also don't think I'm being insensitive - I did, after all, wait a couple of months to post this. I just think I'm going to hell for qualifying human life in terms of RP stats.

I know how you feel. After hearing about Hurricane Katrina, my first thought was that people would think I'm insensitive because I had just named a character Katrina. I don't think you're being insenstive, just logical.
