This is an homage to one of the greatest artist/writers who ever laid brush strokes on bristol, Will Eisner. On December 8th, 1946 in his classic comic, “The Spirit”, Will let the reader look through the eyes of a character. It was a cool framing device, not seen very often.
Today, the field trip continues in earnest as you, dear readers, get a Harry Q view of his abduction. I hope you enjoy it.

I was going to comment on another page of yours that you look like an Eisner fan! A Spirit movie is coming out soon.

FANTASTIC! This page is brilliant, so dreamlike and mysterious. I like the way we get to use your brain as a sofa by the way! Can't wait for the update!!!

Great dialog, I like the sarcastic thoughts, LOL! "Oh, gee, of course!". The view through the main character's eyes is creepy, yet intriguing... does create a cool framing.

I love this!

Ersatz!!!!!!!!! I wuz gettin' worried that you had been abducted by gigantical dysenteric amoebi from Beta Epsilon Linguini! Great to see you,and I had considered the commando gambit, but the original art is only 10 inches x 15 inches, so you can, uh, imagine that wouldn't have worked either way. Ahem.
Ersatz at 12:16PM, Nov. 18, 2007
Good job Harry's not going commando!

Adam: Another Eisner fan speaks, that's a huge compliment, sir! Amy:Thank you, and I don't think I mentioned how good you looked as Adam Ant! I want a nose stripey (it can hide my scar)! I'm also driven to the brink of inanity in anticipation of Antcomics 50!!!
Adam Black at 9:32AM, Nov. 18, 2007
I have a graphic novel of Spirit reprints, and it has the episode with this first-person POV in it. Always wanted to try it myself, but never had a story that it would fit into. You did a flawless job doing that Eisner "camera in skull" trick. Right on.
antcomics at 8:55AM, Nov. 18, 2007
Wow. HarryQ, you never cease to amaze me. And Wil Eisner? Schweeeet! :o)
harryq at 8:16AM, Nov. 18, 2007
It's looking like this one came out alright! I was sceart after the great reaction to the last one! TheMidgeVMO-2: Thank, bad boy, and I like that H-Dawg thang! DAJB: I'm embarrassed to say I've never read the Dropsie books! I was seriously taken by the Warren reprints of The Spirit back in the early 70s, when I was in art school. Yes, hatchlings, we studied cave painting! Eisners' "Comics and Sequential Art" has been my bible to this day, and I go back to it 2 or 3 times a year at the minimum. Chip: Stop that now, my hats don't fit anymore! Fugli: Thanks a lot, you are an Eisner fan yourself, if I recall. jazzy: Wow, I'm speechless... but I'd like to thank my wife, my kids, all of the people who check in here and of course, The Big Guy who... Villamar: Glad you're enjoying it! I've got to run now, as I got permission from a writer I worked with in the early 90s to incorporate a story we did together into this story line, which has taken on a life of it's own. That means I've got 17 pages in the other computer to tweak and prep! 100 pages by December 31? It's starting to look possible.
Villamar at 7:48AM, Nov. 18, 2007
Cooooool! I like this a lot. The last panel reminds me of Peter Pan a la Third Encounters
jazzy at 7:19AM, Nov. 18, 2007
Amazing story telling! This could be my favorite page of yours! And quite possibly one of my favorite comic pages of all time!
fugli at 7:17AM, Nov. 18, 2007
Incredible!
cs3ink at 6:29AM, Nov. 18, 2007
Wow, I second (& third) my esteemed predecessors!
DAJB at 1:19AM, Nov. 18, 2007
Exceeded in its creepiness only in its coolness! Great work, Harry. Funnily enough, I'm going through a "know your history" phase at the moment and - as well as Perez's 1980s reinvention of WW and Bill Finger's 1930s/40s Batman, I've been reading Eisner's Dropsie books. No immediate parallels with the Pugnuggles yet but you never know what's lurking round the corner of those tenements!
TheMidge28 at 10:12PM, Nov. 17, 2007
Beautiful and creepy all one time! weel done H-Dawg!
