Jp mens' style 1
n_y_japlander on Dec. 5, 2007
Here are some popular men styles here in Japan.
From left to right, top to bottom: elementary schoolboy,
Jr. High schoolboy,
High schoolboy,
host from a host club,
Goth/EMO,
hippy,
gaijin (usually wearing a t-shirt and jeans year round),
cowboy (wannabe),
surfer (there's no real surfing in Japan, unless there's a tsunami),
business man (fresh from collage),
same man 20 years later (no promotion),
Yakuza (myth),
Yakuza (true),
Japanese government official,
Yanki (motorcycle group member (I laugh very hard when I see these guys),
construction worker (wife beater and poofed out pants seems to be a requirement),
and Sumo.
Sorry to be the bearer of not so good news, But, I'm taking a month break from cartooning starting today. There is way too much on my plate, and I have no time to do it all, so
You will be seeing me comment on your comics, and in the forums, just no updating on “Raw Fish?” or “Japan Q&A” for a wile. But come next year, get ready to be dazzled!!!
Thanks for reading
Corey

Is it me, or does the hippie look a lot like Megan's character, Fiona?

I like the way it looks like the real Yakuza is handing the government official money. (political statement?)

Well first off, we will miss you. Secondly. what a GREAT strip. This is definitely one of your best. I love strips like these. I got to do one for high school one time showing how students had evolved since the school opened in the early 70s. Kind of a similar thing. It's a blast to do stuff like that.
