shippu (she-pooh)
n_y_japlander on Jan. 12, 2010
Shippu, pronounced she-pooh, is widely used here, can be found in every drugstore, convenience stores, and supermarkets nation wide.
I have no clue if the states have them, but I did not see any when I lived there. Just as effective as Bengay, but easier to use.
*my mom sent me some mints in the last package that she sent, Yuki wanted to try one… knowing darn well that she does not like mint, I gave her one… just watching her face turn inside out was worth the price of her yelling at me…
this link will take you to one of the biggest makers of shippus' here in Japan

TFS many of the Japanese people see bowling as the professionals do, competitive, I've been here for over 13 years now, been bowling 4 times… many don't see it as a recreational sport, or something to do for fun…

I cannot understand how anyone could not like mint. Does your girl have non-mint-flavored toothpaste?
machinehead at 6:42PM, Jan. 13, 2010
LOL! I hate it when others hate things that I love.
mattchee at 9:37AM, Jan. 13, 2010
Ha! Interesting difference there. I wouldn't have thought something as simple as a life saver would hit on something like that. Incidentally, I love those things, but a roll lasts me about 30 second cause I chomp through em...
armandoB at 9:15AM, Jan. 13, 2010
lol

Hah! Did you explain the whole spark urban legend thing with those? It probably is available in the US under a different name as there are lots of similar products. I always though Icy Hot had a sort of minty smell for example.

I don't like Spearmint either, it's too strong. I got a tin box that looks like a giant package of Wrigley's Doublemint gum from my Grandma for Christmas. It was full of Spearmint, Doublemint, and Juicy Fruit. Fortunately, Mom likes spearmint, so I didn't have to throw those packs away.
ghostrunner at 10:09PM, Jan. 12, 2010
