This is the Robotnik from the sonic adventure 1 universe, in case you were wondering. All the other heroes are busy in other universes, and could only send Knuckles over. Robotnik, however, followed the heroes out of the sonic adventure 1 universe, and managed to come to the sonic the hedgehog universe. Somewhat complicated? Yes.
