One more page before this goes on hiatus… :( Got that nagging feeling that maybe I'm not doing the right thing, but… I have that feeling about everything so…
I really like aspects of this story, guys, and I won't rule out revisiting this thing again.
In the meantime, I'm working on my new comic: Godstrands! Please come check it out!
Life and Good Dreams!

Steaming it up while blowing off some steam! I love the illustration, and how the stars look like cascading water droplets!

No worries! Sometimes a hiatus is needed when life is making this overwhelming. I've considered a hiatus these days myself!
KimLuster at 4:45AM, March 27, 2018
You taking time off? I can't imagine haha!
PaulEberhardt at 3:41AM, March 26, 2018
I'll totally second what the others said. Going on hiatus never feels good, but taking a creative break is sometimes the one and only option. Nothing good ever comes out of trying to force yourself to it. I've got a number of unpublished longer stories sitting around for the very same reason: they went strong for pages on end and suddenly kind of stalled at some point for no apparent reason. That's because the Muses are real bitches at heart: they only come to tease you when you've got loads and loads of stuff to do and no free time, and when you stopped being fun they'll just leave. ;) But on some days, often years later, I suddenly feel an urge to revisit these tales and that's when I produce some of the best parts - partly because I have less inhibitions to weed out the other stuff. And I won't rule out at all that some of them will see the light one day, possibly online.

Deep and thoughtful insight on those Muses - very much appreciated! This isn't my first unfinished story, it's just the first one that a significant number of people were reading that I didn't... But hopefully those muse biatches will come back someday!! Thanks again!

Very "gripping" page. In truth as well as punnery.
KimLuster at 4:46AM, March 26, 2018
hehe Thanks!

Maybe the story just needs to gestate for a while... Richard Wagner wrote the first three parts of his Nibelungen opera in the span of 4 years, and then waited 12 years before beginning to write the fourth and final part.

Didn't he throw his wife off a boat? Or maybe she fell. Just don't do that!! Oh, maybe that was Robert Wagner.
KimLuster at 3:48PM, March 25, 2018
That's... actually a good point! Maybe (hopefully this is what will happen!
Jamie59 at 11:00AM, March 25, 2018
So did he inter her mind or body or both or neither? Don't really understand what happened here.
KimLuster at 3:47PM, March 25, 2018
Well... As I went over this scene with my hubby/editor, he kinda had the same issue... I tried to explain that both metaphysics and biology have changed a bit in this far-future, and that people can draw immense pleasure from just sort of 'almost' doing it. He said, "so they're doing buttsex, huh...?!" After I threw my paintbrush at him, I decided I'd just leave to the reader to decide exactly how this went, how far, etc..., just as long as it couldn't lead to conception. Personally I pictured heavy grinding and groping, but you can picture it however you want (maybe vaginas have mutated like dolphins and woman can divert sperm if they don't wanna get pregnant...)... No matter - it certainly has a metaphysical component as well... And I just went further into that subject than I ever thought I would...

She's something of an addict, isn't she? Nothing wrong with stepping away from a project. The best stories write themselves in your brain at unpredictable times. If it isn't ready to be written, only mediocrity can come from forcing it.
KimLuster at 3:37PM, March 25, 2018
Yeah, I wanted to seem as if she had somewhat of a problem with it!! And good - I don't wanna write mediocrity if I can help it!!
Banes at 7:16AM, March 25, 2018
I don't see how backing away would be a mistake. It will give you new perspective on it if you let it lie for awhile (however long you need to). If you stopped without another project on the go, you might not come back, and I would argue strenuously against leaving! I stopped and now it's strangely hard to start up again. But since you have Godstrains on the go, it's all good! Then maybe a third chapter after that, I wanna say "Godsmacked"...
KimLuster at 3:36PM, March 25, 2018
Thanks! That's a good way to look at it! And Godsmacked...! If only there wasn't a band with a similar name...

Don’t worry about it. Just do what you like, when you likeXD
KimLuster at 6:30AM, March 25, 2018
I'm built to worry - it's what I do!! XD
