It was fun coming up with that summoning spell. Although I'm afraid some people might misinterpret one of those rhymes.

Can anyone guess the things I ripped off… er, paid homage to, in it? (Put the axe down, Hogan, there's only one webcomic ref.)

And yes, the poem is meant to be bad (although it is as good as all three of my published poems. Go fig?)

I don't think the dude ever passed his poetic license test in the first place, and he's practicing poetry without a license!

Thanks all. :-) Hogan - Originality of lines...? The first two lines are a twisting of a spell from Justice League of America #10 ("Fingers five & fingers nine, Flash & Batman now confine") Lines 5 & 6 are also influenced by JLA #10 where to free the 3 demons, Felix Faust had to spin the wheel, peel the bell, & pour the jar. Sha-Na-Na was a syndicated TV variety show starring a retro '50s musical group. Line 7. Doctor Strange used to exclaim, "By the hoary hosts of Haggoth!" I of course replaced Hoggath with artist Burne Hoagarth. Line 8. Zatara & Zatanna used to use backwards speaking to cast a spell. Forwards the line reads, "Insert heavy metal lyrics here" which is a reference to backward masking of satanic messages in music. And you got Emancipo.

Emancipo! ... bwahahaah, I KNEW that would be included somewhere! :D I'm really impressed with the originality (in the combination of lines) of that spell, and the comments of the guards in the last panel is just pure hilarity! :P
