The Waves Inside 100 (fin)

AND DONE!
When i actually put my heart into it i could probably finish most of my comics in a weekend… Anyhoo!
This story was an endeavor. I learned a lot while doing it and it felt really refreshing to do something completely outside my usual fair. I struggled with the ending, but i'm happy with how it turned out. I really, really wanna do more horror in the future, it's so different from other writing. Though i might take a break and return to some more feelgood stuff for a while.
In any case, have a spooky night, read some Lovecraft.

I am completely shocked that this comic has reached completion today. I have been enjoying this story since last Summer and was hoping it was going to carry on for a longer run. It successfully created an atmosphere of living and working on a ship, and this comic is now one of the first things I associate with cleft/hare lips.

If i managed to accomplish something for cleft lip appreciation, then that's more than i could ever ask for, haha. Waves Inside was always intended to be a fairly concise story, and while Elyssa's story is pretty concluded i mmmmmight revisit this universe again one day. I had a bunch more ideas that never made it into the final version, so Waves inside 2: Even Wavier is a distant possibility.

Really, this was such a cool ride that you took us readers on, and the stylish ending tops it off really nicely. Every page is a work of art in every sense! About what you said about writing horror being different, I can totally second that. While I love reading well-made horror stuff and know the necessary ingredients very well, I've never been able to pull off that kind of thing myself. With me as a writer, it'll always become silly at some point, sooner or later; maybe I'm jinxed. I've got a lot of respect for people like you who can do this so well, including all the atmosphere. This said, I'll certainly enjoy the feelgood stuff as well. Well... (spot the reference) good night out there, whatever you are!

Thank you for the many kind words! It is indeed hard to stay serious and not let the atmosphere deterioriate into goofy territory. Writing fun is just more fun i suppose. x'D I do give my characters little moments of levity though, to not completely drain the reader and add some likability to the protagonists.
