#0011 - Harry Potter OOTP: Really Makes You Seem Insignificant, Huh?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O64LJ6?ie=UTF8 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a decent attempt at an open-world exploration game, but because of the plot really ends up with quite lateral gameplay.
The highlight of the game is the ability to roam freely around Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; a delight for fans of the books and movies.
The missions are plentiful… in fact early on you'll have a couple dozen to choose from at one time. But they're basically just fetch quests invovling time and not skill.
And there really isn't much to do except play the storyline missions. You can play a few minigames and perform obvious tasks on items around the grounds to unlock bonuses such as footage of the cast talking about the game. But they aren't compelling enough to really search out.
The magic tricks (performed by controller motions if playing the Wii version) will be used often, but can be frustrating in their lack of challenge and variety.
While the openess of the school is nice and the Hogwarts atmosphere is rich, more effort should have been spent on the actual gameplay.
Recommended for those already a fan of all things Harry Potter.
Lizzy Says:
There are lots of actors from the movie voicing their own characters in the game, but I wish they all were authentic. No one can replace Alan Rickman. Why couldn't he find time to voice the five lines Snape has in the game? Does he do anything BUT the Harry Potter movies nowadays?
Clyde Says:
I've come to realize that I'm not a tie sort of guy. Lizzy looks better in a tie than I do. I wish we could wear big cloaks in this game. I'm definately more comfortable in a traditional vampire garmet.
