The rules about magic sources carrying over from the last story.
If you're wondering why the anti-magic spell is on individual spells instead of the entire building, it's to allow them to make changes to the spells placed on the individual cells in case they need to accommodate someone specific without bringing down the protection in other cells.

I do like rules and logic to ground magic systems. Just to keep things on the level.

Yeah, it adds limitations which makes things a bit more interesting than "it does it because I say so" but it also makes it easier to write when I have a framework in mind.

There's a third spell masko didn't mention keeping the grout curse in check.
