Furry Lesbian Gamers, huh? :D

CLearly there are a lot of hurtful stereotypes about vampires out there :/

J_Scarbrough at 7:41PM, Oct. 19, 2022

And monsters too. My character Steve D'Monster never was crazy about the stigmas associated with his kind, such as how they're always assumed to be hiding under beds or inside closets and just wait for lights out to jump out and scare people in the middle of the night.

Nice Bloody Mary joke. Beans and rice? Must be like a peas and carats kind of thing. (I don’t get that either.)

J_Scarbrough at 12:25AM, Oct. 5, 2022

It was a reference to a line from Jonathan Richman's song that eventually lead to the comic's creation: "Does she cook beans? Does she cook rice? Does she do ritual sacrifice?" I don't get the connection either, however, I do understand that according to vampire folklore, they really are as obsessive compulsive about counting as a certain Muppet embodies, so if you were to scatter beans or rice on the ground, they would stop and count each and every single one.

beans and rice, ftw?

The OCD was dmonstrated in a hilarious X-Files vampire episode, where Mulder stalls a vampire from killing him by throwing sunflower seeds on the floor.

J_Scarbrough at 11:57AM, Aug. 27, 2022

I'm not even sure how it all fits into vampire lore (other than, as a certain Muppet has demonstrated, to scatter such before them awakens their compulsive obsession to count every single one), but this was meant to be a subtle nod to the song that got stuck in my head that inspired the creation of Levana and eventually lead to her comic.

The compression actually helps deaden the intensity of the color scheme by taking the edge off the red. The problem isn't the site.

J_Scarbrough at 7:20PM, Aug. 26, 2022

It's part of the problem though in terms of its limitations in how we can customize how our comic's overall look, appearance, and layout appears; right now it's a learning curve, and I'm doing my level best to work around these limitations - it's not as easy as it seems, and my perfectionism is really frustrated right now. I can't even make subpages to my liking since there's no HTML coding, or any kind of editing other than BB coding.

The red is way too intense. It's painful to view the background and banner.

J_Scarbrough at 1:43PM, Aug. 26, 2022

The banner's not my fault; The Duck evidently compresses banners for some reason. As for the background, at least ComicFury gave us the ability to include boxes in our custom layouts, as well as the ability to adjust the boxes' opacity - that much helped tone the background down - but as it appears The Ducks doesn't offer such, I may have to try something different.
