I think the main this with NHN and Smack Jeeves is that they lost their community advocate... It sounds like Dan was the linchpin and without him there was no one to speak for the community and let them know how important those parts of the site were. Drunckduck always had advocates. Platinum and Wowiow made a lot of mistakes, but one thing they did right was to always have someone who could speak for the community- and listen to them. Eventually.

Ha and sorry for sorta falling off the articles, I still wanted to do them but lost my password to upload and then it was just a downhill slide mentally/stress wise for a few months so it got lost in the shuffle.

That's some sneaky facebook crap! I can't speak for Dan because I don't know how things went down, I just know the first post where he announced the purchase, he assured the community that things wouldn't change, so it's possible NHN learned from DD's rejection and chose to omit the fact that they would overhaul the site after acquiring it. I'd send you the quote but NHN broke their other promise to just read-only the forum, just like they broke all the links!
