Are there people interested in working on DD templates for people?

I know I'd love to get something pretty instead of the same ol' same ol', but I'm a comic creator and not a web designer. Is anyone offering to help with templates?

This points out something interesting to which I can relate to. I can actually do web design (from scratch) but I am javascript/flash-challenged so some of the templates can be a challenge to figure out, mold and reshape. The other side of that is the time consumption factor. If I can whip through it real fast in notepad or a good html editor, I'm cool with it; if not, I get a little discouraged.

What have some of you done to make it easier to customize your pages on DD?

I think I'm still too new to this stuff to be able to do a good job of it, but I can make basic templates that are easy for people to edit.

My html skills are limited, but if you guys want me to code up a faux cast/characters page, I could do that for you guys. Its not that hard to put extra pages up either.

Check out my page for demonstration of my html use.

Well we've put up the code and instructions for a number of templates in the templates and coding forum, you could try looking there? ;)

I'm a comic creator myself, and I make my own templates, I've made two for DD (different versions of the same one), and help people with there's all the time. :)
It's not too tricky, just takes a bit of practise, trial and error, and acquiring a WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver can help speed things up enormously as well as allowing you to do new and interesting things that hand coding would never suggest.

I'm in the process of re-doing my site, but if you want to, check out a “template” over here:

Remember to link penis, and read it yourself everyday.

But hand coding's more fun…

I posted my “template” here: http://www.drunkduck.com/community/view_topic.php?tid=30959&cid=231

I use buttons for extra content and my own background graphic. It's not a complex template, but I like it.
