agreed, show some respect. you want naked pics, there's plenty of other places unless she gives you permision. i dont care what you're planning on using em for, dont exploit the situation.
To be fair on Orin J, I got the vibe that he was kidding.

ah,yeah, guess he could. my first reaction when i read it was just being kinda disgusted so that's what i acted on. humor doesnt come across the net to easily unfortunatly. if he was joking.

but i make no promises on not saving if i think it's a pose i'd want to copy in an art piece later.

Oh, believe me. It is a crummy pose. No artistic value there.

I wish I could provide you guys with more details, but I need to keep some things a secret for now for legal reasons. I'll regale you all with the details later, when I can.

And thanks everyone for the help. It means a LOT to me.

I kind of like Json's suggestion. Unfortunately it might bring you more problems than it's worth.

If he was able to hack your email I'd hate for him out of revenge of getting him back, he somehow hacks your website and manages to do something dastardly with that.
I dunno know what kinds of hacking skills this DB has, but you might wanna take the high and legal road with this one.

If I get revenge, its usually with my fists.

God needed the Devil, the Beatles needed the Rolling Stones, Hakoshen needs me.
I'm the enemy he requires to define him.
Soon or later, he'll bring me back to life again for another epic encounter of shouting about power levels and grimacing.

I like Json's idea but Hakoshens is better.

Inform the police. They can track the IP number of the person who sent you that mail and go after him. If that fails, I say go for Json's offer.
Those were my two cents.

I'm so sorry to hear about that Megan! That's terrible news! If something like that happened to me I'd be absolutely mortified >_< I guess this justifies my crippling paranoia about what I post on the internet though.
I don't go offsite of DD and DA often but if I see anything suspect I'll let you know.
I agree with the advice about contacting the police though, even if I would delight in the idea of this jerkface's computer being turned into a paperweight from a good hacking.
Then again, I think knifing him in the balls for this would be great justice too!
But as for the hacking, be careful, there's a chance that it could end up an uglier affair with this guy suing you for the damages. Sometimes the law is backwards and awards nasty little toads like that guy when people take matters into their own hands.

At any rate, I admire your ability to keep a clear head about this!

i thought she was doing that? but yeah, he's breaking the law (in a stupid way) and the law should be asked to break him back. i fail to see any reason to give an exploitative con-artist a break so he can try again with someone else.

as a side note: has noone pointed out that her girlfriend is a pretty lucky girl?

Police were notified Tuesday. Then more higher up police on Thursday. They're doing whatever they can.

People like this guy often seem to think that it's only illegal if they make good on their threats, failing to see that making the threat in the first place is illegal in itself.

It's actually turned into a hilarious story to tell the nieces and nephews someday. “Hey, did I ever tell you kids about the time Aunt Megan was blackmailed? Well, there were these naked pictures…”

I hope they give him a kick in the nuts, or at least where nis nuts would've been, if he'd had any.

I think your going a little easy on the guy, Ironscarf.

I think, a hammer would be most appropriate.

I mean, c'mon. People REALLY need to use some common sense.

when it's all through, maybe you can take it as some sort of weird backhanded compliment…?

If the guy blackmailing you happens to be Brad Pitt, don't worry. He will be dealt with in time.

Well I can assure you it definitely isn't me. I wouldn't even know how to hack someone in the first place. It's a shame that people would do something like that. I know I'd hate it if I found myself naked on the internet one day.

Great theory, but they honestly won't do anything about it. They want kiddy porn and life threats which have a good probability of occurring.

Don't expect too much to come of it, especially if the guy is in another state. If you keep on them, the cops will probably tell you to “Contact the police in the person's local area.”

Most cops don't want to deal with it because they don't know how to deal with it and don't understand the law enough in order to actually do something about it.

It's just like the whole identity theft issues where a cop says, “Oh, they live in the state of Bumfuck and you're here in our state? Well, contact the local police in Bumfuck because we can't do anything about it here.” It's lazy and the wrong information to give someone.

It may be illegal regardless of his intent on carrying out the crimes, but there's not going to be a lot done about it even if he does do it.
