Hello, I'm onyxrose and I chose drunk duck to host my comic(s) because there are so many cool features and it allows adult comics. The reason I want to do adult comics (aside from the obvious fact that I'm a perv ^_^) is because when ever I try and do a real story line I over analyze the minor details and when the littlest stuff doesn't quite match up I get angry and I scrap the story line. I desire perfection but cannot achieve it, hence with pornos, the storyline does not have to be perfect. Its a much more relaxed situation. I hope to use the porno to become more relaxed and confident with comic making so that I can do a more serious comic later on.

Aside from that I'm just your typical college student. I still live with my parents and I am engaged to a wonderful man. I'm 21 and I have loved drawing all my life but was never serious about it till about 9th grade when I met my best friend who is a very talented artist and critiques my art which I appreciate very much. I encourage lots of criticism towards my art because I feel that by trying to see through another person's eyes is the best way improve. Though I do ask that all criticism is constructive only because no one becomes a better artist by getting beaten on.

My comics I'm working on now are Oh my, Cherry Pie! (www.drunkduck.com/oh_my_cherry_pie) Which is just getting its first few pages done and I have in the planning stage another comic that features the same characters and setting and general story line as Oh my Cherry Pie! but is more serious and not pornographic in the tiniest bit.

So, you're saying that having an adult comic is an excuse not to write properly? I think I know why you can't achieve perfection.
Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.

No no, its not like that. Its just I need something a little more light hearted and I have no talent for comedy. Trust me the story for my adult comic will be good, or at least what I consider to be good. Believe me I wouldn't just through up crap for the sake of saying “Hey look at me!” I'm at least going to try and make something worth reading.

Welcome! Huh, you're the first creator I've greeted who outright admitted to writing an A comic. Well good luck, and remember: The only real nitpicker you need to worry about is yourself. If you aren't happy with something, than don't do it, but don't fall into the trap of over-analyzing yourself or your work.

Even a creator can't see everything. That's what readers are for. :)
A Roll of the Dice now with full-size pages!

John Clyde now with ten times the tacky Hawaiian shirts!

Yeah I'm definitively in that over-analyze trap but hopefully I can get out of it!

Hey, OnyxRose! Steely's right - most people aren't bold enough to say they write or read A-rated comics. It's silly, but there you have it. So congrats on being bold and wysiwyg. *high five* And I understand where you're coming from - I used to be the “start a project, get frustrated, then scrap it” type too, but the people here are so supportive and awesome in every way…I get encouragement to keep going AND great tips for improving! Can't beat it.

Yeah I was really surprised I only have one page up and already four people have fav'd it and one person pq'd me about it! I'm sure that's not much here but to know that four people liked what they saw after only one page is a pretty big ego boost for me!

Hi Onyxrose! You've already made a good impression on me by starting off with a review for a worthy, over-looked comic that certainly deserved it. (Human City, http://www.drunkduck.com/community/view_topic.php?tid=41299&cid=235)

Speaking as a perfectionist myself, sometimes you just have to let go. That's why I tend to enforce a fairly strict deadline for myself with Super Temps. My desire to get SOMETHING out and on time forces me to move on and sometimes things are better for it. :)
