Ok so right now i'm in the thick of my thesis. which is great and all BUT taht means my comics are LACKING UPDATES! EXCEPT those i just do ART for. i've noticed that if i feel responsibility to a writer who i am colaborating with, i am much more likely to get some work done. at this point, i really dont have time to think up new things AND draw them- but i NEED to keep drawing. i'm also playing around w/ my style presently.


so if there are any authors out there seeking an artist whos currently in an “experimenting” art phase… i.e. i'm trying to figure out what i can do well ;) and i'm willing to try out alternative crazy random plotty/layout/style things, please leave a post. check out my comics to see a couple of different styles of things i can (atleast a little) do.

Ok. I got a concept for you.

There is a school teacher. He is both black and gay. One day, the KKK finds out about him, and kidnaps him. They experiment on him in their top secret “Anti-black person” labs. There is a technical problem, the locks on the cell let loose, and the teacher escapes. He accidentally finds his way into their top secret walrus gun lab. He gets blasted with a ray of pure walrus energy, and turns into a 10 foot tall gay black ninja walrus with a 4 foot afro.

He then goes around the world fighting racism and homophobia with his newfound walrus powers.


If someone writes it, will you draw it?

ok ok heres a concept, the 1st Royal Giant robot regiment invades the magical valley of loreiyaen, but meet stiff resistance from the magical unicorns of the forest, will giant robots and advanced technology win the day against magic? and what of the little people (faries and the like) caught up in the middle of the war between the big people?

Man, if you don't get someone to do that I might have to.

I just really want to see a magical unicorn fight a giant robot is all. and hey, you could make it really tragic, you could have the “big” races take sides with either the unicorns or the Military forces, with things like the centaurs and satyrs joining the unicorns and the harpies and other nastier creatures that live for destruction joining with the military just so they can feed on the carcasses of the dead afterwards, but then you have the little people who barley get noticed anyway having their homes destroyed and families killed by the odd stray machine gun burst or magical blast.

it would totally work.

darn it, I am surprised to say that it definitely has merit.

…and to think robots are NOT my thing.

sorry rich i think that that plot isnt that new. after all, what did you think the beatles were talking about? “i am the walrus!!!”

and hell, why not mimarin? i'm open to new different… random .. things. if someone would be willing to write it i'd be cool with that.

Oh and of course you would have to constantly restate the scale difference for dramatic effect, particually if you choose to focus on little people, you could have one character get caught up in a skirmish during the rain where a giant robot patrol gets ambushed by unicorns, you wouldn't have to show much of the battle because of the scene, you only show what is happening on their scale, the things that are their problem, being trampled by hoves or robot feet, red hot shell casings thumping into the ground around you, things that in the battle are no problem to its participants, but to a 6 inch tall person can be fatal, after a while of running in the mud and narrow escapes you can have the battle end, make it a nobody wins scenario to emphesise the futility of violence, Have him/her land on top of a destroyed robot, high technology and armour will contrast with the barefoot nature of little people type races, have an establishing shot of the aftermath, all the trees in a large area have been shattered like matchsticks, the ground has been torn to shreds, there are dead unicorns and destroyed robots all over the place, smoke pouring out of the robots, blood oozing out of anything that used to be alive. It's still raining, there is our little character, standing on top of a robot in the rain, ruin all around him/her.

I cannot draw sufficiently well and with enough consistency to adaquatley convey the aforementioned imagry, I would need to aquire an artist of high enough calibre to meet my standards, that is incredibly effortsome. Concepting is what I am good at.

anybody else got anything for me? i'm actually seriously considering mimaran's idea as a short story but if their are any writers out there… well let me know!

Sorry I don't have anything that'll top that. Unicorns vs. Mechs is gold…pure gold.

Soooo… do you want this concept or not? because if you don't I'm taking it back because I feel if I can get a suitably awsome artist it can take this idea pretty far.

I actually have some pretty avanced ideas based on it,including motivation for the Giant robot regiment invasion, you see it's all about ley lines. To mystical races leylines are the source of magic, the blood of the earth, often marked by ancient monoliths, but to the humans, people of science and technology leylines are a natural source of sustainable power and an end to the global energy crisis going on at the fictional moment.

Now a common resource has been established conflict flows easily, it also gives focus for the conflict, even if it isn't the actual primary focus of the story, I quite fancy the image of an ancient obelisk marking a nexus point being bulldozed to be replaced with a power plant.
