I miss the old days…

I have one somewhere in the merky reaches of my harddrive that was taken less than a week before the crash. I'll have to start escavating… >o>

EDIT: Found it! : D

I took the screen shot because my friend said she'd buy me a brownie if I ever made number one comic.

And by God that Brownie was delicous.

I'm sure if I looked I could find old stuff. I found html code from the old way pages looked. I wish I'd just took a screen shot of it.

Holy cow, FIGHT was up there in both of the two 2003 screenies. And they weren't even updated. Man, we shouldn't have gone inactive. Stupid Ed and his stupid marriage… Now we gotta work harder than ever to claw our way back up…

On that note, I am so glad to see FIGHT back! :D

I actually have an even older screenshot, one with only a top 10 list and the duck lying there but I don't know where I put it. But I know I don't have the very first layout. :(

That's not all that old at all, that came after the silver/blue version, shortly after one of the big DD crashes if I recall correctly.

Gunnerkrigg Court is a fairly new comic.

Black Kitty has the picture of the first version of DD which I believe many of us lovingly called the “PA Knockoff”.

EDIT: God I miss the Grab Bag.

Yeah, but #3 of what, 300 total? Now your #83 of 3996 total! And that's with your HD catastrophe!
It'll definitely be worth your $ to get that HD extracted by a computer shop. You can't put a price on those hundreds of pages you poured your soul into.

There was also some kind of point system. I forget exactly how it worked, but after so much accumulation, you could win prizes from Drunk Duck. I actually cashed some of mine in shortly before the big crash and bought that copy of Photoshop that had been there forever.

Didn't you trade in cookies to get points?

The features that grind-ed my gears were that you had to have separate accounts for separate comics, could only upload one page a day, and rigging up updates was a lot trickier.

You jammy bastard!!!!! Hahahahaha! Bastard, bastard, bastard!

Bastard!

HA! Man… you could gamble your cookies for duckbills and with the duckbills you could buy various things… Man, I was always thinking about that but never got around to it and you actually did! Bastard! in before the crash… Sneaky ;)

Bastard?! Now is that any way to talk to a sweet guy such as myself?

Yes, I pulled a sneaky and actually cashed in some duck bills before I lost them. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that I cashed them in the very moment I had enough to get the disc, so I didn't waste any time at all.

There were a couple other things there, too. I think there was a Cowboy Bebop DVD that I was eyeing up, but I never grabbed it. Wasn't there like a comicbook, too? Whatever happened to those prizes?

Yes, I think the comic was a Drunk Duck anthology or something? Drunk and Disorderly? Man… I miss that swag… :(
I'd always just look at it and think “maybe one day…”. HA! Like a big groovy toy in the window of a toyshop when you're a little kid :)
