does anyone know of a free website to upload a 20-50mb file so someone else can download it? i found some sites but there's limitations on type of file and how long they will host it.

I usually just use photobucket, but I don't really know too much about the limitations on that site.

http://www.yousendit.com

This is how I send all my comics-related stuff. It's free for files up to 100 MB.

For file limitations you can try zipping or raring the file. Or if that fails maybe try renaming the extension to .txt or something it will accept and have your friend change it back when they receive it.

photobucket works for pictures and yousendit requires that you have the email address of the person. what i'm trying to do is put a 20MB CD image on a site somewhere where anyone can download it for free. the CD image is the complete first story arc of my comic which will finish up in march. this is how i plan on “publishing” the comic. CDs are cheaper than printing books but i want the iso file available for anyone to downloas for free.

Rapidshare might work. That, or megaupload.

The ones gig mentioned might probably work for you. Filecloud is another.

Yousendit actually has a loophole where you don't need anyone's address. Instead of sending it to someone else, send it to yourself. Then just grab the web address for where your file is located. Anyone can download it from that http.

It only stays up for two weeks, though.
