O.K. This is something I did once on my own, and I loved the results.

1.)Listen to a song.
2.)Draw how the music goes. You can draw instruments how the tone feels (smooth/rough).
3.)Draw as you listen and don't spend more time on the picture/design/comic then the length of the song.
4.)Title and sign.

Example:
Song: Girl (artist=Beck)

Song: Sheep Go to Heaven (artist=Cake)

This is only one way to do it, you could use any song, and any interpretation of that song. (You can make one overlying picture, and it doesn't have to be scattered like this. It could even be coherent!)
These aren't great examples in my opinion. I can't use MS PAINT for improvisation very well.

So basically the original Fantasia?

It is similar I guess, but this is a still, this is more free formed, you can choose any music, and this art is meant to be more raw in emotion (that is the only reason for the kind of time restriction).

Some of fantasia was just colors splashing.

Well I guess it is similar. I always found fantasia boring-ish.

So, are you going to participate?

I used to use Fantasia to put me to sleep. I wasn't saying it was great, I was saying your idea reminded me of it. But naw. I don't have any artistic talent. And Ropin is way too busy.
