What a great thread!

One of the coolest things I ever saw was when I was on a sail training voyage on the Leeuwin (a sailing ship). We were moored in a rocky bay, near Albany I think (Western Australia), the land there looked like fjords… Anyway, I was ashore, climbing on of the large rocky hills when I heard the sounds of aircraft engines. Two single engine prop aircraft came swooping low over the hills and down into the bay having a mock dogfight, they looked like mustangs or spitfires (Pilatus training aircraft). Looking down into that beautiful rocky bay and watching them swooping and dogfighting down over the sailing ship under a bright sky was amazing, like something out of a funky action adventure movie… Very unreal.

1. The end of a rainbow coming down into a small square courtyard I was in. Should've dug under the birdbath in the center.

2. Seeing the Milky Way when I was a kid. Ever since I moved into an USA city many years ago, I've not seen a true night sky since. I love the night sky yet I've been kept away from the stars for so long.

Being able to see a meteor shower a couple of years ago was really cool.

And there was one time when me, my brother, and some friends were walking to a park. A huge buck came running out of the treeline, started running across the road, jumped completely over a MOVING VW Rabbit, and ran into the other side of the park.

The coolest thing I saw when I was in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada. The sea seems to end at a point and the current of the waves just stops at that point!

It seems as if the entire sea of the world ends at this exact point! I mean… it's in summer and when the water reaches it… the water and currents just stops! Unbelievable!

Enjoy… Las Vegas-y
